Don't forget dead leg, standing up and almost falling over is no joke.

This is the life we chose.

Another pet peeve is someone is like "How hard van it be to write a novel?"

I've killed off one character before - I wish I hadn't gotten so attached to my own character!

When you are sitting on your bed in the zone. Your words flow in tune with the music. The scene kicks ass, and your fingers haven't tapped the wrong key in 5 minutes. Perfection.

DOORBELL

And then you have to untangle yourself out of your laptop and headphones.

It's always that one package you've been waiting for, for 3 days.

Writing the most glorious thing ever then re reading it and thinking it's stupid. That and split infinitives

  • seeing an amazing environment/setting in my head but then when I write out the description of the place, my writing skills just aren't at the level to make it seem as great as it was in my head.
  • Same thing happens to characters. Characters could be interesting and compelling in my head but end up being wet cardboard in writing.
  • getting to a scene that needs to happen but I'm too eager to get to the next scene and end up lazy-writing the current scene.

and then the self-loathing begins.

This happens so much to me. Then I just lose motivation and that's a whole battle i gotta fight my way through again. :expressionless:

I find it a little too easy to kill of characters, but there's always the moment after when you have a scene they'd normally be a part of and you go to write their line of dialogue, then there's this silence and you realise just how attached you were.
