Writers Camp x NaNoWriMo November 2018

Hmmm actually I do have a question.

The official rules stated that all kinds of novels submission was okay as long as it’s prose, but would a short story collection be acceptable?

None of these stories had ever been published anywhere because they haven’t been written yet. All the stories also ties together in a way, just not extremely apparent at first.

I actually had a different story I was going to enter with, but I thought this short story collection would be more beneficial to me for the time being and if possible would I prefer to spend the time developing it.

If I recall correctly, short stories are acceptable as long as they fall within the character and episode requirements. Short stories were done last Camp and I didn't see anything stating otherwise this time.

I was around for the first two camps and have been wanting to participate since, but was under the age requirements at the time so I am three times as hype to finally be able to participate.

I wanted to apply, using a short story, since the instruction says to enter with a story that hasn't been written elsewhere, but the word limit is kinda discouraging.

We decided to make Writers Camp longer this time because we know everyone will be grinding that word count for NaNoWriMo in November, and we want to give you plenty of time to edit and revise afterwards so that you can be happy and confident with your submission!

I'm super excited for the opportunity as always and I think it's super generous that Tapas offers neat opportunities for authors like this <3. I'm a little nervous about how long the camp will last because I'm a nervous nelly and I like to know the results sooner rather than later, but at the same time it's good so that people can meet the requirements easier~! I'm also a little nervous about the inclusion of premium writers cause they already have an edge, but it's still a great opportunity to get traffic for our stories!

Good luck to everyone who does NaNoWriMo and the Writer's Camp! I'm choosing not to participate, but I can't wait to see everyone's stories. I'll be doing NaNoWriMo though, I've hardly done any preperation, I guess I'll have to see how it goes.

I'm pantsing Nano for the first time, so this will be a learning curve for me. I have allowed myself one side of A4 to write out a very very basic plan, and I have some artwork that I'm allowed to use to inspire me, but other than that I'm just going to try to write, write, write for November and see where it takes me.

I forgot to ask this, but are we allowed to post teasers for our cover and story before Camp begins, or should we wait until the 1st to start talking about it with our readers?
