I guess the headline says it all, I'm just curious to hear what you guys think. How much back and forth do you expect from an artist when you're working with them on projects? Obviously regular updates are expected, but are you put off if they aren't super social with you as well?
I'm collaborating on a short with a writer right now and it has gone pretty smoothly and is wrapping up this week, though our interaction has been super minimal (time constraints with a quick turn around to hit a contest deadline means I don't really have much of an opportunity for anything but powering through, 7 pages to complete in a week). I've been keeping him updated with images of the progress, but we don't communicate a ton.
I've been wanting to work with other writers for a while, so I'm just curious what people typically expect? I'm not the most social person, especially with quarantine, I typically work out/jog for two hours in the morning and then literally spend the rest of my day drawing (I draw professionally and for a hobby) and I'm concerned that collaborators might be put off if I don't try and develop more of a rapport with them. I've seen posts in the Collaboration sections where it seems like a lot of people are straight up looking for a friend.
Anyways, I'd like to hear people's thoughts about their relationships with artists. Thanks.
