That is like, my worst nightmare lol. It was hard enough just writing a description for my actual comic, since there is so much going on. When people ask what it's about, I usually just say:
"A reaper, like the grim reaper, instead he's small and fuzzy and cute, and he saves children. And one day, he unexpectedly becomes the legal guardian of a very innocent human girl after saving her."

But that honestly doesn't scratch the surface, because there's a bigger story at play about the turf wars of a psychically-gifted queen and the young cannibalistic princess who's father she murdered. About a secret organized crime group who knows how to universe-hop and steals and uses the blood of humans in order to do it. A reptillian beast who uses everyone like a puppet so that he can play God.

There's waaaaay too much sh​:cat:t going on to pitch in a sentence or two lmao.

It's taken me around 10 years of writing about my comic to develop an elevator pitch I actually like. It's hard to choose what to focus on when you have multiple POV characters, multiple settings, and a lot going on.

Idk anyone who says they're not into elevator pitches should really try giving it a go, they're a great way to try to distill what you're trying to say without getting buried under the heft of your own plot.

Like, mine is 'Six millennials from an insurance company accidentally become the greek gods.'

Back when I had an actual elevator in my work: They go up the elevator, they go down the elevator. The end.

Proper pitch:

For the first chapter: A young woman on a date with a coworker, is caught in the middle of the invasion of her home city, and the total ramification of being occupied by a foreign power, when it was once thought the US was invincible.

A sub plot line of how Marine La Pen has planned a covert invasion of the US, occupying economic importation vessels in space, and sending an elite division of the Space Seals to climb down like ninjas for a coup.

Note: This is for the prologue, that sets up the dystopian setting.
