I don't really have these issues yet because my plot-driven comics aren't popular enough for people to even speculate on yet. lol

Oh man I got one comment that went along the lines of "be more subtle like SU for representation, don't be a third wave man-spreading feminist with a leftist agenda", JUST because I mentioned I drew a figure androgynous to be non-discriminatory.

I'm like excuse me? Talk about an entitled reader trying to police my work. Next time I get a comment like this, I'm straight up deleting it. They're not worth my time. :expressionless:

"Why so short"
"When will they bang"
"Who is the girl" (about a gay couple)
"Who is the uke and who is the seme"

I am lucky enough to get little to no rape jokes in the comments.
Instead I get the funniest little drama beans throwing a fit. Someone once demanded I make the entire bloodroot thumbnail into a trigger warning
I also recently had a little drama llama come on my wall to ask my why I, in their words, "promote incest". I did my best to be polite in my response to them. They later accused me of condoning pedophilia. Shit got really weird

urg.... yeah the rape comments or rape joke comments I really hate getting to ><

he keeps harassing my friend bc they remove his comments so he keeps coming back and threatening to spam them if they keep doing that. theyve had to contact michaelson twice now i think.

Do you know if he's been dealt with? I've just realized he's gone almost completely silent on my work. Which I'm glad for.

He went silent to me after I emailed Michael Son a few months ago. But recently he's been leaving snide comments again so I don't think he's been dealt with permanently.

"Daniel looks like Levi from AoT" - Still happens occasionally.

"So Daniel's a yandere..." - Okay, I don't LOATHE this one, I know why some call him that and I suppose it's not wrong, but I don't know, it feels...limiting. When people assume that, I get the impression they're going in for a certain type of comic that they're just not going to receive.

"Daaamnnn Daniel" - Not that meme, no, NOOOOOOOO~

But really, even these don't bother me that much. They just make my eye twitch a little. XP

Because I quickly learned this community can become invested with idiots, I've made it a habit of taking screenshots and collected evidence of people acting out in rude or otherwise unpleasant ways. Just in case I need to prove anything. If a user's behavior is complained about enough I can only hope the staff does something about it in a meaningful way. Here's hoping <3

OH. MY. GOD. I feel ya.

Character comparisons. I totally get that they're just how the brain is wired to recognize and compare but me and my illustrator friend have been getting some really wild ones lately. She draws realistic buff men in fantasy settings of her own design and people will say stuff like they look like the human version of Scar from the lion king. ... A guy who is a winged demon with a spiked tail. I have this one character who in an older rendition had a bumped nose, curly blonde hair, green eyes and freckles. She's a baker and was basically just inspired by commonalities in looks of Irish women. Someone left a comment saying she looked like the female version of Marco from Attack on Titan. Because... freckles, I guess?

Some of these I just start to feel like people are a little obsessed with their fandoms and need to take a walk outside, lol.

It could be that they are that minority themselves and are just happy to see some representation. I know quite a few people were excited to learn my character Tula is Filipina and Andreas is Mexican and some commenters expressed that they shared similar backgrounds.

I've even had some people ask if I were Filipina or Mexican/know Spanish and it's like "No? Is it that farfetched to make characters outside your ethnic group?"

I feel this so hard, man. I designed a lot of characters in my world to be inspired by friends and family I grew up with in a niche little area of Australia. People get race boners for it and think I'm into tumblr brand diversity where the characters start and stop at being dark skinned. (One tumblr blog took an image of one of them even and tagged them as #African American ... without asking me what they were.) I was reading comics when I was 14 and decided to make different looking people for my worlds because I just didn't like that everyone was always Japanese or American. That's all lol. I would rather people just treat them like regular people, yanno.

Recently, I just addressed all of the whiny comments I've had and tried to be honest to my readers....Well ofc it somehow backfired??? One reader is now playing victim, saying I told them to fuck off and that I was rude and such. I wasn't even trying to be rude??? I was just saying that if you don't like this comics then leave. JFC, so there don't ever reply to rude comments cause they can't comprehend stuff.

...I mean that. GIVE UP ON PEOPLE.

THIS. SO MUCH.

My character has black hair and is named Sebastian, and there's always people who think he's a reference to Black Butler...

Yeeeep. People think my Islander girl who I've been drawing since I was 14 is either Korra or Moana based. Because apparently brown skin, blue eyes and an affiliation with water are automatic qualifiers. No other people like this have ever existed in the real world.

people whining on Webtoons about my update schedule (i do a page weekly) gets my goat. it's literally EVERY week. like, you should know by now that this is the schedule, you don't have to read it weekly if you don't want to!

I just had to call out Golb again for derailing and essentially replying with spam to an artist's streaming post. I want to punch this idiot in the face.

"Your character's bascially...."
"I like your old art better..."
"Your (insert here) would be more interesting if you draw like so and so..."
"You should draw like so and so."
"thats nice. visit my so and so..."
