Miss Butter’s favorite food is ketchup. Yeah just straight up ketchup :relieved::sparkles: by itself. Although she enjoys it on most foods too, but that’s goes into normal territory. But then maybe she would eat it on a slice of toast and that’s a bit weird…. But her late butter bee’s Favorite (TM) food was ketchup so she likes eating it because it reminds her of it and the good memories she had with the little creature 🧈 :bee:

lemme get this straight, she used to have a pet bee who liked eating straight ketchup? Also I have characters who like eating ketchup straight too. they don't usually do it, but they're entirely okay with it lol. but those kids are weird in every way

gross. but I have some characters like this too lol

@Leyelle lol yeah I guess irl there are people who aren’t opposed to eating ketchup by itself so maybe it’s not the weirdest thing out there but it is pretty grody :sob: And technically it’s not a normal bee, they’re little weird Fae more than an actual bee. They’re in the shape of butter sticks.

Yes I realize how ridiculous the concept is :sparkles:

@beebutterbee they don't happen to be edible and taste like honey butter do they? asking for a friend. it's not like I have any biscuits on hand or anything.

also yeah, it's odd to eat condiments straight, but not completely unheard of. I like eating straight maple almond butter lol

NOOO!!! lol do not consume the butter bees, they're actually fuzzy I feel like you could eat one but it would be like eating a mouse which is just kinda sad.

And I think alot of people do eat condiments by themselves unintentionally, usually with the knife or spoon they used to apply to whatever food. I do that with the honey I mix into my tea on the spoon :joy:

Oh gross definitely not. food should not be fuzzy. and you probably shouldn't eat anything sentient.

i feel like this fits my series pretty well . Since my novel is set in the ocean the only source of food is to hunt dangerous sea creature. Imagine you fight for your life then have to loot the corpse of what you killed for food. doing this for the first time was definitely upsetting for Ryan who had no prior experience in this.

Since Essence has no taste in food whatsoever I'll just have to answer these for Dominic.

Dominic is willing to try most things. He won't be rude if he doesn't like them, but he finds Mint chocolate chip ice cream a little weird and chemically tasting. He doesn't like the texture of pineapple on pizza though he thinks it tastes fine, he also doesn't like the way it wets the dough. He's not opposed to wild game, but he doesn't have the stomach to go hunting as he's very mild generally and sensitive to blood, death, and the sound of gunshots.

He DOES like eating offals (hearts, livers etc) but it took him a while to get used to it. When he was little he didn't want to eat them but his older sister told him it would be selfish to the animals they eat to waste any part of them when they died for their sake.

He drinks alcohol occasionally, but only when he's going out with his friends. He likes fermented foods as well, some of which he and his sister make, and some which they buy from their local grocery store, especially kimchi.

He and his sister also cook fusion which some people are against saying it's an excuse to not cook either culture's food properly. They are big fans of soul food and taught themselves to cook it, though they are first gen Americans. (their parents immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam as children and teens)

I will note however, that Essence has some foods she dislikes because of their textures. Feeling is currently the sense she feels the strongest and she doesn't care for okra and other slimy or mushy foods because of their textures

Holy Star (one of Kattar's friends) likes eating raw foods, but NOT raw animal products of any kind as he's vegan, which could also be considered controversial. He mostly eats a lot of uncooked vegetables, sprouted seeds and things like that.

Jinho dabbles in vegetarianism and typically prefers not to eat mammals, so things like raw beef are a no go for him, and he would never eat living foods as he considers it inhumane. Andrew eats meat but feels the same way about eating living foods. Jinho will eat raw eggs and fish though. Andrew is fine with raw fish but doesn't care for raw eggs, though he tries to be polite about it.

When it comes to spicy food, Jinho likes spicy things, Andrew doesn't have a high tolerance for heat, but will deal with it more often than he probably should because Jinho likes it. To Jinho's credit, he is very considerate, and doesn't make spicy things often since he doesn't want Andrew to suffer physical pain for his sake.

Pizza debate

Ozwald: he likes it, he thinks it is a good idea and he often orders it after he found out about the combination

Higen: hates it, he can't believe Ozwald would like something so evil as to pineapple on pizza he even thought he was possessed by a greater evil when he arrived home with one of them one day.

Mint chocolate.

both like it is probable on their top 5, I think it is Higen´s top 3 vanilla being his top 1, while Ozwald thinks is a solid 4th spot on his top 5 they both agree it is a good choice especially on a hot day.

This sounds pretty extreme lol

New controversial food. How about Anchovies on Pizza?

Kattar thinks fish and cheese too not belong together. period. No questions asked. the exception might be cream cheese in sushi, but he barely thinks that cream cheese counts as cheese.

Alicia thinks it's just too salty.

The idea of fish and cheese together literally sickens Essence.

Dominic doesn't care for it either, but he could tolerate it without any adverse effects. still he questions why anyone eats that.

Ayla likes mint chocolate chip ice cream because she likes anything sweet, regardless of the other flavors involved. hence, barbecue pizza and pineapple pizza are also her favorite, and she likes putting ketchup or barbecue sauce on all her fried chicken, which might also be considered controversial.

(thanks to this little missy, some of Essence's clothes have been suspiciously "anointed" with saucy baby handprints.)

Shaun doesn't like Mint chocolate chip ice cream, but she'll eat it without complaining because her boyfriend does. She really likes pineapple pizza, but she just loves pizza in general. as long as it's done well, most pizza is fine with her.

Texas doesn't like Mint Chocolate chip ice cream and neither does Chili. They find it weirdly astringent. Pineapple pizza is something they will tolerate but they pick the pineapple off it and try to feed it to their cat, who also won't eat it.

In the realm of alcohol, Texas isn't old enough to drink and Chili doesn't care too very often. If he does, he usually chooses to sleep over at a friend's house so he doesn't come home tipsy.

ToV
Higen and Ozwald I think they both like them, I think Higen likes it a little bit more than Ozwald, I do believe Higen picks a piece of each topping and places them near the crust where there's more sauce and gets on big bite of everything

Hah! I literally just updated Ugh Not Again with my main girl Dola ordering Pineapple pizza, Fylson dreading it, and poor, sweet, clueless Eirlan having no idea what it was.

I think for mint chocolate chip ice cream; Fylson would like it because it would remind him of something he's had back in his world, Dola would hate it because she'd think mint shouldn't be frozen; it's overkill. Eirlan, again, would have no idea what it was and be convinced Fylson was trying to trick him into eating something gross.

Dread seems kind of extreme for pineapple pizza lol, but ok
