Actually, no, it's written in full dialog but done so that one can voice just the main character & still convey the gist of everything.
How can I pull this into a tight, episodic format where something happens each episode
It is in a format where something happens in each episode, a scenario that either reveals something about a character to the viewer/reader, or about a character to the other. I tried to put something interesting in each script episode.
Perhaps spend some time listening to some drama podcasts
Anything like classic radio-drama? Because I have listened to some of those, besides listening to many VAs before writing for them, as well as to dramatic storytellings by Patrick Stewart.
confused as to what a "neko" is
I thought this was near-English word by now. Yes, it is a genetically manufactured hybrid. In this case, created intelligent but lacking any legal rights.
you're writing it as a self-indulgence or writing exercise, rather than writing for an audience
The original scripts were written for VAs to use on their YT channels & elsewhere. So, I was writing to an audience, just not my own audience. The rewrite is, of course, intended to be Tapas audiences; readers vs listeners.
there's nothing wrong with paying VAs to record your monologues
Perhaps you misunderstood. I wrote scripts for VAs to use (for free) so that they might earn some bread on YT & Spotify, etc. I wrote & posted the scripts online where VAs go to look for material they like.
you need to decide what you're doing this for.
I thought I was clear as to why I was doing it: it seemed like a good idea at the time. What I'm unsure of is whether the story would be interesting to readers, at least enough so to justify hammering the completed script projects into a new form. Perhaps I posted in the wrong forum to get that sort of input.
