The villains... those cast of characters are which they spice things up for any story whether in comics, video games, movies and so on. They could be the driving force for your main character to go through and the tougher the villains are the better the heroes come across in the end.

Let us celebrate these wicked characters by sharing your favorites.

For me, personally, and for the longest time, it was The Joker but as time went by, I started to get behind Dr. Robotnik from the Sonic the Hedgehog games.

One of the reasoning is that, for the most part, he comes to you for the fight, he doesn't wait for you at the end of the game(s) to square against you. That's quite admirable, in my opinion. As the years went by, he got more developed and the more you learn more about him, he becomes more interesting.

So, what are yours?

Favorite villain! Who can it be other than this absolute driving force of nature?

FUNNY VALENTINE, folks. FUNNY GODDAMN VALENTINE.

This guy does all kinds of evil things and does them with pride. As the president of his country, this guy does everything he can to make his country the best. His heart is clear and his actions are noble. always looking at the more realistic greater good. Most people will call Funny Valentine a selfless and righteous monk of a human being. But is he truly all that? I don't think so. As hard as it is to see, Funny Valentine is a selfish and crappy human being whose actions are not even half as noble and righteous as they seem. I think the character is so blind to his own mistakes that even the readers have no choice but to believe he is rightfully driven.

His character is inarguably one of the best I have seen. And if I might be as bold, the best most of us will ever see.

To end this, here is a quote from the man himself. Just look at him, he looks like what he is saying is as obvious as 'one plus one equals two' is!

Jareth (hands down).

Sarah did the right thing, but hot dang how can I not love David Bowie?

Annie Wilkes. She's bloody terrifying, because she's realistic in comparison to King's other villains.
@BlueDragon I'm not ashamed to say that Jareth was one of my first crushes...

Movie:
Rose the Hat from Dr. Sleep.... i can't hate her.

Anime:
Yujiro Hanma from Baki series. Such an entertaining boss, the hyper-masculinity makes him funny to watch.

oh i loved this guy too lol! First villian crush as well. I still go back sometimes to watch the "dance magic dance" video lol

Uh, this one is from my childhood but Bakura from Yu-Gi-oh! ( i prefer "season 0 " but i grew up with Duel Monsters)

Has to this dude
Don Quixote Doflamingo
black airforce energy personified
Plus the comparison between him and his brother is awesome n represents the whole nature vs nuture argument

OMG! Me, too! It's still good after all these years
Legit, I still have the vinyl soundtrack Mom got us (cause, you know, Mom's been a Bowie fan since the 70s XD)

@kelheor
XD Yes!

@ stargazer
You and me both.

Jessie and James would always be my favorite villains

A man who fought, lived, died, and was reborn for the sake of his dream. A dream of a kingdom of his own. He'll do what he will to achieve his Destiny but also being remorseful for the bodies he has left behind. Be they friends, loved ones, or his enemies. Griffith is my all-time favorite villain in Manga for how well written he is from the start of Berserk to its unfortunate end. Thank You Kintaro Miura for making such an amazing villain for your manga.

He has no desire to rule, he has no desire to stand out. He wants nothing more and nothing less than a quiet and simple life. Despite being a serial killer and how dangerous he is towards his action of killing women he likes in Morioh. Hirohiko Araki probably made one of the best written villains in his series. Sure he isn't as overpowered as the pillar men or DIO but he made an antagonist that's believably human.

While Cell was originally created to take down Goku and become the perfect being Cell much like his transformations begins to evolve beyond what was his original goals. He wants more than just being the "perfect" being and he wants to see if the Z Fighters can prove him wrong by fighting him in his tournament.

"This is how I'll always remember you. Surround by winter, forever young, forever beautiful. Rest my love, the monster who took you from me will soon learn that revenge is a dish, best served cold. It would move me to tears had I any tears left to shed."

Still my all time favorite episode of this show. Heart of Ice brought an old campy villain like Mr.Freeze and has transformed him into a Shakespearian villain. A man who tried to save his wife from a deadly illness only to have been taken away by the man he worked for. Now he can never touch anything warm for it would mean his death. Abandoned, alone, trapped as a prisoner in a world he can only see but never touch.
