I wanna know how everyone goes about planning and sketching out their pages, and if anyone has any tips or resources for making the process faster and making better pages
personally, i tend to make a list of light panel descriptions drawing from my more detailed script, then create a couple different panel layouts with the page idea in my head, and then decide on one to sketch out. any tweaks to that design have to be made once i sit down to make the actual page, which is kinda annoying, and i wanna find ways to make my thumbnailing process more carefully thought out.
i have friends who have stages inbetween that of sketching out gestures and expressions they want to include before layout comes into play, which i think is a good idea. other friends of mine just go straight ahead from script to page, which is terrifying.
how about everyone else? are there any good blog posts or articles about comic thumbnailing?
