I can't tell you how many times I have looked at my story, seen how many action scenes I have planned, and thought "fuck it, I'll make a Romance story instead!" lmao, but my biggest challenge when I first got into comic making was making on character look the same. I had to give extremely distinguis…

about two years for me, but I worked day and night, even at work i was writing down ideas. I worked very very hard to get it done that quick.

[image] I had posted a picture of where I typically work (my couch). but this is my desk lol

come on oklahoma artists, where are you at?

Oh my, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this critique and the info in it. I also though that things were off but I couldn't quite tell what. Now that I know, I can fix these things and hopefully improve on them. For the few questions you had, She was indeed at a trans gathering. I should ha…

[image] I have a desk but I like the natural light in my living room. Plus we have kick ass giraffe couch pillows.

if you're posting your pages in a chapter that already exists on the website, it doesn't count as updating but editing the chapter. You only appear in "fresh" if you post a new chapter. Kind of dumb, but it helps keep the "fresh" section from being flooded.

One of my main characters in fugitive, as well as several side characters. He is Thanatos, the god of Death. He's just been introduced in the illustrated portion, but he plays a major role in the story and is an all around lovable character (not at first but after a while). There is also a genderflu…

My comic didn't have a title for two years, I wrote it all out first and started illustrating three different times before I picked a title. I followed all of my friends around and tossed ideas at them non stop until like 8 or 9 really caught their attention. Then I begged them to vote on one, which…

I'm a baker at a local bakery, working under their cake decorator to learn how to do that.

I used sketchbook pro for a long time, but now I use Manga Studio 5. It has all the tools for creating pages such as a panel tool, speech bubble tool, different shading textures and tools as well as premade panel set ups. It used to be a bit pricey, I'm not sure how much it runs now. But it is worth…

Soak your hand for like 45 minutes in water as hot as you can stand and epsom salt. It relaxes the muscles. Then do hand stretches and take a break for the night. unfortunately our its a risk of the craft.

my book is Fugitve, Some things I have been told to work on is going slower and explaining things better and how i pose my characters (I guess they look kind of weird in some panels). This is all character development so far so I don't want to spend too long explaining everything just yet, so it may…

My main antagonist is actually one of my favorite characters that I've made. She is driven by grief and passion and wants to punish the world and Death for taking her lover away. She connects strongly with my protagonist, so much so that if it weren't for a few choice actions on her part they would …

I was 17 when i did my realism year, and I did do some cartoony stuff while doing it (mostly commissions and such). But the realism was fun and has gotten to be useful later. It teaches you how to draw something by looking at it, not just people but objects too (which is something I use daily for my…

Extremely old: [image] Slightly less old but still old: [image] I haven't drawn something that wasn't related to my book in soooooooooooooo long so both pictures are over a year old. The first one was from when I first started doing digital art.

@Pandastrophic I really love the art style and the colouring. not to mention your characters are both super attractive blush I can't decide if teacup or muffins is cuter, probably muffins though! I'm definitely going to subscribe:] My latest page is Here and the first page of my comic is here

I was told by a professional to do realism for a year then return to comic book style, and I fought it tooth and nail. But about four years ago I did it and my style improved immensely (things like proportions, hands and feet). That being said, each artist is different. just because some artists ben…

my main character is Genderfluid and Bisexual, I have several Trans characters and gay characters. fugitive

It's so interesting to see how other artists do their work smile I checked out your work and it is amazing i love it!

I don't use a specific program but I have different files for every thing. I used a character creation template to help develop characters then I store all of the characters info in a file for them. Anything involving that character goes in there (sketches, lore, etc). Then all of my individual ch…

That's a good practice, I have mine written as well. Story boarding comes after that. It's what the artist does to lay out what the page will look like. Kind of like prewriting.

I have mine written out completely, that seems to help me more than the story boarding. I get impatient and want to just finish the page before moving on. I need to learn patience i guess lol

I usually draw storyboards chapter at a time (I have it all written out from beginning to end of the series) but I'm curious how far forward everyone else story boards? Does it make it flow easier to story board farther in advance? Do you get impatient? Fugitive

Fugitive Its a fantasy drama, it's still early on

Ooh I like this, I especially love the art. The story is riveting so far!

Hi! my comic is Fugitive and it's about a vampire with very unorthodox methods of changing the world. It touches on current issues (such as racism, transphobia, homophobia, and sexism) as well as personal issues (such as depression, drug abuse, alcoholism, and the struggles of parenthood). It is NSF…

Use reference photos for backgrounds. I'm not saying trace them (nothing wrong with it, a lot of famous comic book illustrators do), but definitely don't be ashamed of it. I'ts hard to imagine what buildings should look like or how the compare next to a person. Also, write out your ENTIRE story b…
