It´s hard for me to judge if most authors know how to write romance or if they don´t have a clue or are bad writers. I´m a bad writer myself. I guess most writers are really bad and there are a few who are really good at it

For me, it depends on the context of the character. Some of my characters have last name, but only if it makes sense for the story. Other characters will never have a last name mentioned or it's not important, so I don't come up with one.
They only get a last name if it's relevant to the story. In some cases, last names don't exist in the context of the story so there is that too.

That would be almost every character that isn't from a made-up location ^^ It's more time-efficient for me to just play with what I know when it comes to using real-world stuff for my stories; that includes cultures. [image]
