That`s a good question. For my comic:
Dragon Ball
One punch man
Hunter x Hunter
Avatar, the legend of Aang
Naruto
other animes i may not remember now
Kung Pow
Dungeon and Dragons
Adventure time
Mithology
Fairy tales
A rock i found in a toy box when i was a kid for some random reason.
Some situations that happened in my real life.

In case you are curious:

When I draw (or write) comics, I usually try to poke fun at human nature and everyday life, so for me it's mostly a matter of keeping my eyes and ears opened, and to just let my mind wander. Sometimes hearing someone say something goofy starts the inspiration process. Other times I just observe my dog in action (or inaction). Once in a while I manage to dream up something to write about, but not often enough. So really at some times almost anything can inspire me, and at the other times nothing might inspire me as well (which I don't enjoy).____

hmmm...tons of different things! im really inspired by psychology, sleep and dream study, medical science, nature, people, and Freudian concepts

but my inspo for art changes a lot. im really into european cartoons right now and sylvain chomet is one of my favorite artists atm. im sure i'll be into something completely different a few months from now lol.

mostly seeing other inde artist make something like animations or comics, art also (mostly just getting mad at the artist for being better than me and then using that anger to get better myself). one of my favorite inspirations when I am sad is this video by jazza

it's such a good story about story tellers : D

edit: also if you like superhero stories I would recommend Sandman from neil gaiman though I expect most have already heard/read it

i get my inspiration mostly from story driven video games (the last of us) and manga (attack on titan).
and movies with more of human characters.

I write horror short stories sooo

  • Nightmares
  • Dark Themed Music
  • Horror movies

james roberts' more than meets the eye
my love for corny modern fantasy/supernatural action/comedy movies
avas demon
steampunk
muse & caravan palace
(stylistically) wander over yonder & steven universe

I get my inspiration from many places...
1. My dreams (I have weird dreams almost every night, so it's no trouble)
2. Tolkien (I'm a huge fan!)
3. Music (E Nomine, Era, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Gregorians, Depeche Mode, Blind Guardian, Xandria, Leave's Eyes, etc, etc, etc...)

In case, you are interested in my comics:

3 years later

A lot of inspiration for my art is a weird combination of Traditional animation, Abstract expressionism, and various contemporary illustrators.

Media I've loved over the years that have inspired me are things like Lion King, Balto and Prince of Egypt. They are very effective with their visual storytelling. Avatar the Last Airbender is another thing I hold in high regard.

For my ongoing project I was inspired specifically by Coco, Shape of Water, and Big Bend National Park

Glints Saga aims to follow the inspiring and positive spirit of the magical-girl genre's classics, so shows like Sailor Moon and Pretty Cure provide plenty of inspiration.

The edgier stuff like Madoka Magica does give some inspiration as well...in the sense of being great examples of the kind of shallow and nonsensical storytelling I don't want in anything I write. =^_^=

For me it would be

Fate/Stay Night (the visual novel)

Lord of the Rings (the novel mainly)

DnD

And a lot of anime.

The thought that I’m not doing anything useful, my upload schedule, and my super nice subscribers

Oooo, I love this thread! It's so interesting to see what inspires other artists!

For me, I was inspired by Avatar the Last Airbender, Studio Ghibli films, Harry Potter, traditionally animated disney films, and lot of different anime. I also get inspired by certain people I meet when it comes to designing personalities for my characters.

This is my series, you can definitely see the anime showing in some places. lol

Besides for the obvious Jack Kirby (if you read my series, you'll see why I'm saying this) I am inspired by quite a bit of things! In terms of artists, I love industrial manga artists like Redjuice and iwaisan. I've been teaching myself how to construct sci-fi scenes because of them for years and years now. Concept artists and wlop inspire me due to the sheer amount of precise detail in their work. I love well written horror by the likes of Stephen King and Junji Ito... And I love anyone who can pull off technicolor art! On a personal level, my dreams have always been intense/vivid so they inform sequences in my stories too.

This is the cover I painted for volume one of my series and it is based on a dream I had!

Definitely a lot of animators inspired me to start creating comics/animations
I think my viewers also motivated me after I hit the popular/comedy page. Now,I just wanna be on the top!
