I probably don't have my first sketches anymore but I found a picture that stood at the beginning of a comic I have been unpublicly working on. It's from when I was in highschool and was wondering what to do with my comic that seemed to be leading nowhere and decided to focus on these two characters. Now that I look at it, they look totally different now!

Thanks for this topic, it was fun looking through the few old folders I still have on my computer... so nostalgic!

North was previously taller by a 10cm. now he's 145cm hh. He underwent a lot of changes?? First it was the abilities, then it was the clothes and then his NAME. Also the first story was so incredibly different (and embarrassing but hey, we all grow)

the first style of HERO.SYN was pretty different - I for some reason didn't like full inks back then - and I hand wrote EVERYTHING, it was ridiculous.

So my comic is based off of something I wrote back in 2005, so my first drafts are about 10 years old.

This is the first picture (I believe) of my main character. (He looks like a Kakashi knock-off). The woman with him is his sister Raven.

My comic is close to becoming a year old now, and I just so happen to have the original character designs for it. Before I started making webcomics I had never done anything fully digital and really didn't haven anything close to a consistent style. I think these were slightly drunken doodles based on me and my friends that I ended up liking.

I think I have come a long way.

The later part to this comic I'm uploading with it looks much better. I don't want to remake the it due to losing all my work and the fact I kinda like the weirdness of it.

Oh Lordie Lord! Here's my first and only character sheet for Wednesday...a year old and basically drawn a few days after I thought of him. Not my...best work but hey! It's basically the same as it is now, my style's just changed a bit, hopefully for the better?

As for Mercury, the style hadn't changed as much as his design. Originally he was going to be blond and with curly hair! It seems so strange to me now! Here are some intermediate sketches from the original design to how he looks now.

I don't know where the oldest sketches are but here's something from 2007 with a re-draw as comparison from last year. Somethings certainly have changed during these years.

According to Facebook, I posted this drawing of the Crow Summer cast online on April 10, 2013. While this isn't the earliest drawing I have of the characters (somewhere I've got a hard copy of the VERY FIRST drawing I ever drew of Nina), the day I first thought up the story was Friday, January 11, 2013. (Yeah, I wrote it in my journal.) So the characters were, at most, only about four months old when I drew this.

Compare/contrast my most recent Twitter sketches of the gang, and you'll see…. they haven't really changed that much. Except Reese, who is pretty much the same in personality but who was ORIGINALLY a 16yo stoner and is now an innocent (??) tween.

Also, this comic is actually (sort of?) a reboot— as in, I've drawn it before, but this is the first time I started drawing it with the intent to see it through to the end. The other tries were all just testing the water, feeling out how I wanted the pacing and art to work. Here's part of my first pass at it:

So yeah. It's been a really good, fun project for like… three or four years now.

The very first artworks I made of Logan and Isaac from Icebreaker. It's from March 2014... OLD LOL.
A lot changed, but at the same time I tried to stay close to the original designs. Back then I would never have imagined making it into a comic because I never made comics back then.

The first try at making it into a comic was from Decemer 2015 - March 2016 I didn't have the story fully written, and wasn't sure about the artstyle yet. So I made about 3 pages and realized I had no idea what I was doing haha.

This summer 2016 I finished the plot of the story and started over with the art. I thought through my character and took a simple artstyle that is easy to draw consistantly.
