Hello dear Tapas people ! About a year ago, I made a post asking for advice on how to increase my chances of becoming an original artist on webtoon… aaaand, one year later, Nemesis Chronicles, my comic is one of the 12 finalists in the Supernatural category for the Webtoon Canvas Awards, it’s su…

Hi everyone, There’s a thing I’ve always noticed on webtoon (or webcomic platforms in general) No matter the amount of subs a story has, after a couple of episodes the number of likes and comments progressively drops, of course there are a few exceptions but I’m currently in that case and I don’t…

The allowed amount of panels isn’t the same indeed, the 100 panels limit on canvas is a curse! When I first posted my comic, I had the same issue, the pacing was really slow and took about 10 episodes before some concrete stuff happened. So I took a break from posting to edit these chapters and ha…

No worries English isn’t my native language either! What I mean I that, when you take webtoon originals for example, the main characters and plot is revealed within the 3 first episodes of the story which got the readers hooked. In your story, it feels like you use 3 episodes to focus on one sce…

As people said in previous replies the art is breathtaking! I love the cold atmosphere your colors are giving! I think where it’d be turning me down would be the action? Because nothing really concrete for the reader to understand the story happens within the first three episodes?

If you repost it as a new series on the official submission page I think you should be fine!

Looks like I didn’t read it right! Sorry about that! And thank you for reminding me the right rules ! These are great news ! Definitely gonna use my ocs then!

I didn’t indeed ! Sorry  Well this is great ! This way I can think of a way to use my characters and do some sort of spin off from my current series ! Thank you for answering me !

Hi dear creators ! Well, everything’s in the title ! There’s only one month left before the Short Story contest starts and I’m trying to take advance (might as well take advantage of the quarantine) and I was wondering something : From what I read in the rules notice on webtoon, you can’t use …

Hi ! So I'm back after taking a break on my current updates to edit my older chapters based on the tips that you gave me, here's what I did so far! These are examples from my first episode, I tried to apply warm/cold colors to emphasize the atmosphere : ex: This used to be one of my Episod…

Your art style is sooo smooth :scream: where can I find your webtoon work?! My IG is @sharpkatsudon  Honestly It gets a little frustrating sometimes, I mean I do love fanarts myself but I’m even more excited when artists Introduce their own universe and characters? Plus fanart is nice but when the conte…

I’m so impressed by people picking mind bending because I could never think of a plot that can fit in such a short amount of chapters :scream: (Not so) funny fact about my socials : I got quite an important community on Instagram they’re just not interested in my original work. they prefer my vld fanarts

Yes I saw it! I’m participating too! Did you pick a category yet? I’ll be doing heartwarming , it’ll be a nice opportunity to apply all the tips I got here !

Hey everybody, Just showing you how the editing of my older episodes is going, I'm trying to apply your advices and I'm actually quite proud because I just realize how much I improved on keeping my style consistent, here's a redraw of a panel : [image]

Thanks for the answers ! It’s mainly for backgrounds or poses references, I think I’ll start using the CSP 3D model for poses and will try to find a free use resource for objects and buildings ! I’m not earning any money for my comics, but I do own a patreon so I guess that counts as commercial use! …

Hi guys! So the other day somebody warned me that using google sketch up when you had a patreon or were intending to make your art commercial you couldn’t use the free stuff because of copyright issues. So I’m now trying to find everything that’s needed to be known about legal comic creations an…

Thank you for your shading example! I'm having a 2 weeks break on Webtoon to edit my older chapters so I'm gonna try to apply your tips! I also checked CSP for backgrounds and objects and I didn't think there were that many references! Definitely gonna usa that too! I was also wondering somethi…

Most of them are! I usually download brushed and effects (sparkles etc) and I always find what I need for free!

I'm using CSP but never checked their background file!

Fuck that's actually a pretty good idea, I just did some searches and also found a few topics about Blender and Maya!

Are there some alternative to sketchup that you can use?

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this review! You have no idea how helpful it is! May I ask you a few questions about the different parts you wrote? Story I was a little worried because although I'm doing a fantasy/romance comics and thus use imagination as part of the worldbuilding…

Hello dear tapas people! My 2020 main goal is to become featured as an original Webtoon author (Desilusional?me? YOU BET! hee) I'm constantly trying to notice what can be improved in my comic to get closer to that goal and lately I've been Editing some of my early chapters because they have lots …

My answer will be quite like what has been said earlier but here's my own experience : my webtoon has been featured on the 'special' part of the website/app (that's the panel at the bottom of the website which suggests you to check Canvas) and at the time I barely had 300 subs, it lasted for 2 we…

Hey ! I've been wondering, and I'm not sure the question has been asked before but, when webtoon comics are picked by editors to move from canvas to originals/featured, what exactly happens? Do you have to keep posting on canvas until the comic is rebooted? Or do you actually have to stop post…

Hi guys! So after releasing my webtoon update a few hours ago, I was surprised of how “fast” I finished this episode, managed to put 40+ panels in a week which has been happening for the past 2/3 updates now, and I was wondering if my art/storytelling had improved like my updating schedule did. A…

Thank you! This helps a lot, especially about the brand censoring, since canvas doesn't allow music in episodes, I try to give a dynamic to some of mine by adding scenes where my characters are listening to certain type of songs that help set the mood of a scene, and I didn't how to do about mention…

Hi fellow creators, My main 2020 goal (probably as many people here) is to get featured on webtoon, Thus I've started working twice as hard on my webcomic, I'm spending 6 days/7 working on it so that I can provide at least 40 panels each Week (not as hard as I thought once you find a Schedule t…

Hi! Thank you for the feedback ! When looking at the first episodes on a laptop I didn’t notice the bubbles issue but it stands out more when you’re scrolling on a phone or tablet ! I’m planning on editing the first chapters so I’ll add this to my to do list thank you!!

Hi guys! I’ve recently started my first original comic, “Nemesis”, on which I’ve been working for almost one year, it’s fantasy/romance and since webtoon doesn’t have its own forum, I thought tapas would be the best place to promote it ! So here I am! I’d be very thankful if I could get feedbacks…
