I gave a critique once, and I think I pissed the author off. It was a short and minor one just about his palette possibly being a bit too bright for the tone of the comic. And after that I felt like he was ignoring me until recently, despite that being my only issue. Could be a perfect example of …
Your art is amazing.
Yo. Cool job. I wanted to be an animator when I was younger, but my fam was too poor for a computer period at the time (let alone one with the capabilities for the expensive software). My college didn't have an animation program either.
Yeah I've been interested in hearing more about techniques too. So far when I research, especially for watercolors, I end up just coming across landscape and flower painters. Still they have some awesome ideas that could be easily applied to sequential art. Currently I use more Dan Brereton's te…
A sketch of Spawn that turned out ok. I just wish I'd been more patient when drawing the sword, which ended up all crooked. Like I said though, it just started out as a simple sketch so I try not to get too hard on myself. [image]
Yeah her comic is one of my faves. I like her in the Avenger line up, but I think she should have hung out with the other Inhumans more. She could have helped bolster one of those series since she's one of the few Nuhumans that really sticks out.
I'm planning on traditionally coloring mine. So far I have little experience in digital art beyond corrections and lettering. Though I'm not opposed to digital art in anyway, and would really like to get a better grasp at it. I also wouldn't mind doing a fully painted comic at some point, similar…
Lately I've been drawing a lot at my night job, which I'm at right now; fueled by coffee and instant udon.
I'd be interested in being artist for this. I'm working on a few projects right now, but later on in the Spring I'll definitely make some time if you're still looking for talent.
I have a lot of artists I look up to too, Some of my top choices are: Joe Madureira Love the energy of his art and how he mixes western super hero style with manga/anime. [image] Loish Recently just got into her art, but I quickly fell in love with it. I like how she mixes Disney, manga/anime,…
Don't worry I plan to. And even then I'm not going to directly ink my pencils, but trace them onto some watercolor paper since I'll be coloring by hand.
I just bought some dip pens. I usually ink with micron markers and sharpies, but I wanted a better flow.
This was helpful for me too. I'm not sure how the process goes either. However I don't feel ready yet to approach publishers, especially at producing sequential art at the speed needed to meet deadlines.
WOW! This page looks amazing.
That looks hella dope
I should share my three things too. I'm torn between the Pterodactyl or Tyrannosaurus for my favorite dinosaur. I like tea and coffee, though prefer the later. And I usually listen to movie scores or Hip Hop beats when drawing. I don't have a comic up yet, but I'm drawing it between checking th…
World of Darkness. And thanks. I'm still working on my submission pieces and trying to draw a comic for here.
Funny coincidence, I might be doing illustration for the company that makes that game.
I would like to learn to color digitally, if only for time in the long run, but I'm way better and thus faster at traditional media. So when I actually get around to posting it'll be colored in a combo of watercolors and gouache.
I like a lot of those too (I'm not really into One Piece though). I just rescently seen One Punch Man and it was a pretty fun show (to my surprise). I'm still watching Attack on Titan, and like it too for the most part. Blood Brigade Battlefront seems good as well despite the main character being…
Loish, Cara Grand, Ka Vang, Tony Diterlizzi, Joe Madureira, Gerardo Sandoval, Greg Capullo, Jonboy Meyers, Lesean Thomas, Shono, and a lot of anime and manga (love Studio Ghibli and Bones). Also the art of Final Fantasy (namely Tetsuya Nomura) and the Castlevania games (Yoshitaka Amano for this one…
I thought you had a list of series you liked, but I like those cliches too. And yeah I still prefer shonen too.
We have some very similar influences.
I'm interested in hearing some of those you like.
Most of the complaints I see here are because a lot of the anime that gets released in the west is Shonen (targeted at older elementary to teenage males). And some of my friends that are from and live in Asia tell me the anime market has really narrowed to targeting the hardcore otaku scene too muc…
I've been trying to find a balance between Manga and a Western comic/super hero style. But I'm probably over thinking it, especially wanting to emulate my favorite artist vs being derivative. Here's some concept art for a comic I'll be posting here soon. [image]
