It would be more weird if it was on the comics if they did that but in the forum it is mainly (I imagine) to drop some pounds of files from old threads that nobody looks at anymore. They also have it set up so that you can post images from the link address which bypasses that problem. Like my image…

It seems that every ow and again they clear it so if you put an image in using upload then it can disappear.
It is super fun and all the cool kids are doing it....
I may have jumped the queue let me know if I did I will take it down and slot back in
