Whatever scanner you use, as others have said, if you're going to use that as your finalized art it's probably going to need a bit of touching up. Some tips for best results: If it's simply black ink work w/ no tones, adjusting your levels and curves (levels are a little more simple to adjust) wil…

I do a comic about a fictional band. I joined an actual band as field research for it. I have used none of what I've learned whatsoever. You know, I really admire the commitment there. Did you play much at all beforehand?

It's really going to depend on the artist. For a simple black and white comic page it could go anywhere from about $80 to $200+, color can add even more. Figuring out how much you're willing to spend and how flexible you're willing to be on a project will make a big difference. Also not sure if yo…

Hey there, over thirty here. I've been making comics for a real long time since like, high school. I started my current big comic projects about 8.5 years ago. I got my undergrad degree in creative writing while taking some art classes in my spare time. After graduating I moved to Japan to give my…

Congrats dude! It's a weird place to be, having done so much but still having a ways to go, but you should absolutely be proud of your accomplishments! 400 pages is a lot but that just means you're committed to the end and it'll be all that much sweeter!

Christmas right now for me is just an extra excuse to hang out with friends, watch movies, and bake and that's pretty great. I'm a sucker for Christmas lights and snow and in a lot of ways as the holiday time has gotten a lot more chill it makes it a lot more fun.

Would also like to add to Kazsup's comment, as a huge Jojo fan, one of the things that actually inspired me with Araki's work is how much he's grown as an artist, and how much flexibility he allowed himself as a writer. The structure of his project means he can experiment with ideas within his wor…

Rico is full of fluff and love and cat food~ And yay for more black cat love.

I don't know if my experience will help but I've been working on a long-form project for about 9+ years and it's about 1/3-1/4th of the way done at about 450 pages. If you look at a lot of long-form comics like Old Boy or Akira that's honestly about the same length. It's just good to have perspectiv…

Hello! I haven't really introduced myself or my work on here either so it's nice to meet other people. 1) What are you drawing/writing (comics/novels)? What is the genre, the plot?! I'd like to check out your works! (I'm a fan of all genres, really). I have two comics up on Tapas. My main comic…

Couple things: How much strain is the program putting on your computer? Are you trying to run anything else at the same time? If you can. go into preferences, go to performance, and adjust the percentage when it says allocate to application. This should help with how smoothly the program works. Th…

I hope maybe my experience might help, but I've been doing my current comic for about 8.5 years and I've battled my desire to redraw it constantly. I'm at a pretty okay place with it now but it's taken a lot of thought to get there. City of Cards, my big project about 400+ pages and still going, i…

Hey there, this is my first time posting on Tapas (hello!) but I figured I'd say something since I actually went to a specific art graduate school rather than art school straight out of high school. I got my masters in comics and cartooning from The Center for Cartoon Studies and I think that was a …
