Interactive comics are neat, but the whole "waking up in a room with amnesia" thing is a huge cliche at this point. I'd advise you come up with a different way to open.

I use this technique for all my backgrounds. With this and references, backgrounds are pretty easy to do. It still requires a working knowledge of perspective, but with a little time this way makes it MUCH more accessible.
