Hi, I'm Paracosmos! But please, call me Cosmo. I'm the author and creator of the Devil's Colt series. I hope you'll consider checking out my work and supporting my writing.
Thank you so much for your reply! I definitely need to give it some thought, but applying for premium definitely does appeal to me. Though I am still a relatively new author and I don't exactly know what all goes into that process. I've read over the process and what all I would need to submit, but …
Thank you so much! I'm super thrilled, but at the same time a little overwhelmed.
I wouldn't say I have one particular muse or artist. My taste in music is very eclectic. That said, I do have specific songs I match as themes or as tone setters to specific episodes. I also have songs that I set as the theme for the entire arc of my story as a whole. For instance, this is the the…
Okay, I know this is a comic thread and I'm a writer but this honestly resonates with me, so I'll go ahead and add my two cents as well. I can't say I've ever really considered giving up writing before. But that's mostly because writing is as much a form of relaxation for me as it is a passionate ho…
Oh wow! I was tagged. Thank you @blackorchid Okay, so I might be cheating a little bit with this one by doing four characters instead of one, but I have a picture with all four of my supporting characters on it and I'd like to give them a chance to shine instead of gushing about my two leads again.…
This is Jonathan Hyodo! The main character of my novel series, The Devil's Colt. I'd also like to mention that this wonderful art is courtesy of @joannekwan [image] Jon comes from a blended family, being half Japanese on his mother's side, while on his father's side he's one part Cherokee, one …
Thank you both! We managed to figure it out and have posted the book cover.
@blackorchid thank you so much for your kind words. The story I'm writing is quite a bit different from what I'm used to, but it's something I've been very passionate about for a while because it relates to the work my partner and I both do. She's a teacher for special needs children and I'm an EMT.…
I think @Freemints30 hit the nail on the head. One person's stereotypical bully may be another person's unfortunate reality. We may laugh at the idea of some poor kid being stuffed into a trashcan and rolled down the stairs, but the sad fact is that there are people out there who pull stunts like th…
Thanks for dropping the link! I'll give it a look for sure.
@WinterFall and I can't guarantee that my story will be the best example of this practice, but I am trying to portray polyamory in a way that is real. Even if a lot of the elements surrounding it are very fantastical. Because I agree that there's a lot of mislabeling when it comes to stories involvi…
Okay, now I know which scenes you're talking about. I'm sorry if I came off as aggressive before, it's just that I have a lot of people who have been a lot less polite about this than you have so far trying to criticize my work before really giving it a full read, which has been extremely frustratin…
From a technical standpoint, it can be a bit perilous. There's a lot you have to balance when writing this sort of thing. But that's why I really like Tapas. Because you can dedicate whole episodes to just the side narratives within your main narrative. I honestly don't think the writing I've done…
I'm not sure what story you read but there are some major inconsistencies in what you've given. Firstly, my male main character has only engaged in one sex scene so far from what I've posted of this story. So I don't know where you're getting that second one from. Secondly, I don't know where you're…
@domisotto I have only introduced one main love interest so far, and as I know you read, it didn't work out. I've still got three more books worth of character development to go through here. If you don't want to read anymore that's perfectly fine. Though I will say, a male power fantasy was never m…
Which is honestly why I felt like posting this is in the first place. I didn't want my writing to be written off as just another Harem writing when I do intend to give it far more depth than that.
@HGohwell Mine is a pretty slow burn as well. Again, that's because this story was originally written back when I had no idea what it was eventually going to turn into. But I personally like what it's become. It's a journey. And you see for yourself how the layers form as each new step is taken. Whe…
And again, I one hundred percent respect that. I'm not going to appeal to everyone. I'm merely extending the invitation because I want everyone to know they're invited. Even if my work doesn't appeal to everyone, I never want anyone to feel like they've been excluded by my work in some way either. S…
This is why I go through and individually choose which things get edited. Grammarly will offer certain suggestions regarding sentence structure and unless I see one I just really like I usually choose to ignore it. Punctuation issues and sentence fragments are primarily what I use it for anyway.
@RiyeRose I thank you for your kind words. I'll admit, mines a bit of a slow burn in that regard. Mostly because I didn't know that this was the direction I intended to take this writing when I first set out to write it. But this is what it eventually evolved into. So as I'm posting these chapters, …
You bring up a good point. I feel like most people would assume an OTP would eventually happen regardless of the genre unless otherwise specified. Personally though, what I like about portraying true polyamory is that it allows OTPs within OTPs. It can interesting seeing the web of romantic bonds th…
Third-person writing feels a lot freer to me in terms of perspective-changing. I find if I write the scene correctly, I can change the perspective from one character to another fairly organically within the writing. Ultimately, whenever I write a scene, the first question I ask myself upon reading b…
Grammarly has been a life saver for me!
Been a while since I posted to one of these, so here it goes! My series "The Devil's Colt" definitely fits the bill. It's a dark fantasy series that blends action and romance with more light-hearted elements to create a blend of Western, Noire, and Japanese Seinen. It's a Grim-Dark universe, but wit…
@therosesword you bring up multiple very valid points regarding a saga. And you acually hit the nail right on the head as far as what I wanted to do. That is make "The Devil's Colt" the name of the saga as a whole and then with each new series, just tack on the title for that individual novel. I.E m…
So from the answers I've received so far, it looks like there are both advantages and disadvantages to either strategy. On the one hand, some of you pointed out that there could be dead subscribers and sub for subs I'm not accounting for. And that could affect my ability to reach that overall a hund…
This is a tricky question for me because there's a difference between the villains I enjoy writing and the ones I enjoy reading. I've always been a sucker for charismatic psychopaths. To me, Heath Ledgers Joker will always be one of the all time greats in terms of villain archetypes. Though I do lik…
Mine's a solid nine out of ten. The Devil's Colt saga takes place on modern-day Earth, only the entire world is secretly run by three factions. The forces of Heaven, the Noble Houses of Hell, and the Fallen Crime Families. Each one has their own agenda, and none of them are terribly concerned wit…
Okay, novel guy here so not many pictures, but I'll go ahead and answer each one as well as provide a comment as to why! Fuck you times two! Hah! That's TWICE as much!: Masu and Takeshi - because they're easily the most immature students at all of Anju. Has already beaten up whoever said that: R…
On the twelfth day at Anju, the Occult Club gave to me! Twelve Hunters Hunting, Eleven Mortals Running, Ten Vamps a Biting, Nine Mothers Dying, Eight Marks Appearing, Seven Lovers Leering, Six Holy Rounds, FIVE DEADLY DEVILS! Four Broken Hearts, Three Sex Scenes, Two Deadly Guns, And a Redhead who…
