Incorporating all your hobbies and wants in each and every character like a library of books. Plus it also helps if you have knowledge about the hobby or interest, it could make your character stand out too.
I think it's planning on ahead what would happen, or what would you expect to happen in that chapter. Like a summary of what you wanted to happen. Because on my first draft I just went with the flow and just go with whatever the character "would do".
My main character declaring his love for his wife in front of his wife's father. It's on the next chapter and writing that scene was just so intense and exciting at the same time.
My character blaming everything on his hunger and fatigue, when I initially plan him to walk out on the role as the chosen one.
