Hi! I think, an easy way to get the ball rolling, for the sake of inspiration at least, is to watch shows/movies that reflect a bit of the setting and mood that you're aiming for. I personally like to see how certain things have been interpreted by other creative teams, especially in terms of how t…
The Pinewood Curse -Even in the worst possible situation werewolf cinnamon roll is still kinda hopeful things’ll work out? -Will she/won’t she: the comic -Is the female protag actually meant to be likable??? -What time period is this even
Quebec here! AND super stoked about attending TCAF (as a visitor) next week!! As for Canadian influence, my comic actually takes place in french colonized Canada/New-France. Though it's never explicitly mentioned, I've meant to have it implied with the character names and the general farming vill…
Pretty happy with this panel here: [image] I think it properly conveys the feeling of doom, and intensity I was going for in the scene- (for The Pinewood Curse) Plus, I feel I did a good job with the motion and expressions on the characters. * high-fives self *
Toska the giant troll baby from Prague Race. He's just so precious! [image] And the previously mentioned Duane from Unsounded.
Lawd. I'm already bamboozled with how you're even capable of working on 3 (4??) comics at once. Mind sparing a few of those magical productivity beans? :'D
Love the premise for Illuminated! (Oh those glorious working titles haha.) I totally get behind the need for a change of pace. Though I love working on the very moody Pinewood I am very much looking forward to taking on a story with a fluffier tone.
Ahh yes, though I'm not nearly as prolific when it comes to coming up with new ideas, this is exactly why I don't think I could ever do a sprawling epic. I'm always way too eager to move on to the next thing!
Any stories floating about? What's next when you're finished with your current project? Here's the place to share your half-formed brain babies! Also: Have you ever experienced the burning urge to focus on a new and exciting idea while being already caught up in a long-winded project? What have be…
Plain old insomnia e_e
A Champloo movie * whimpers * I would die happy ;n;
The strongest of fragrances and flavours. Hmyesyes... I will concede. But by far the least refined! D:
-Moeblobs that are constantly apologising for things such as: Breathing the same air as GenericMaleLead-sempai, and generally taking up too much space. (Stand up for yourself sister!) - Just the fact you so rarely see a series with a protagonist over 16 anymore. *nostalgic sigh *
I find his rhetoric... uhm... distasteful to say the least. [image]
French! Was born and raised on the French side of Canada, spent most of my summers on the English side of Canada, and grew up happily bilingual : )
Ah man, what a great thread, glad to see it revived! I'm a sucker for these, haha. For me, I have the pleasure of working from a communal workspace with a handful of super cool and talented artists (3 of which actually work in comics). Here's my little patch of rented land: [image] (hanging out…
Take a tagline, put in the hands of 50 different people, and you're likely to get 50 different stories! Similar themes, similar outcomes, perhaps, but no matter what, there will never be anyone to tell the story like you can. As for tropes, they're really just recognisable patterns; Things that m…
I understand and relate so completely. Just last week I had one of my friends ask me over chat if I had my story "read by anyone else before I started drawing my comic"... which I promptly translated into "Uhh...Has anyone actually read and approved this script of yours? Because girl, I see issues…
Baseball bats are my go to. Not too flashy, but threatening as heck! I guess It's mainly that I'm a fan of "pinch situation" melee weapons.
This guy! He's the protagonist for the next comic project I have lined-up, once I'm done with my current one. [image] Slightly stuck inside his own head, flirty, friendly, pretty laid-back kind of fella.
Perrr-itty excited for the following: Daniel The buildup and tension is amazing. Can't help but feel for our protagonist/antagonist D': Ultramarine Weather Colourful cast, cool setting, and WHAT IS UP WITH THAT KID? Erie Waters J-just rip my heart out already. Creep Feels good all around. Like a c…
Oh gosh, only because I have to! And then, it's a mild form of psychological torture. I constantly struggle over the need to go back and tweak/redo my pages ^^'
The Phoenix Requiem! I don't know that it was my very first webcomic, but I believe it was the first that reeeeeaaaaally sucked me in, and got me excited with every new update.
Ah fair observation! I love Emily Caroll's work, she's an inspiration Thanks Joanne!
Hi everyone! I'm Stef; coffee lover, Montreal artist, and very recent addition to this community. I've been uploading my comic, The Pinewood Curse, for a little bit over a month on Tumblr, and upon further investigating Tapastic, I've found it would likely be a swell place to post my pages as wel…
