Part 1 Script

Write a comic script for a comic page with multiple panels. Multiple means at least 2 panels,
can be 4, 6, 9 whatever the page needs. I suggest not to go to crazy on the amount of panels
though. (My script will have 6 panels)

Add all info that you think is needed. There are no rules to what you add to the script. Whatever
you think is important to communicate. I will add an example format from my script that you can
use as a guideline, or you use your own format.

The deadline to send the script to the next team member for part 2 (sketches / pencils) is monday / october 6
You can either upload the script to this thread of send a pm to team member.

Remember, this is a fun collab without a professional approach.
I´m a penciler, inker, colorist and not a writer, other people are writers
and not pencilers. We are all taking part to learn and have fun. No stress

Here is my script for @kokichiluvr to pencil.
The pencil phase starts monday 6 and ends sunday 12.
So you´ll have enough time to start penciling.

I thought it would be fun to make the script public instead of sending
it via pm. This is the first script that I ever wrote for someone else.
I hope this work for you.

a professor invents a future forecast machine, only for his wife to leave him, frustrated by his obsession.

professor (shouting): "at last! my future forecast machine is complete!"

the wife (right side of the panel) grabs her suitcase. professor (left side of the panel) stands motionless, mouth open in shock
wife (angry): "i’m done. your inventions always come first, never me."

she slams the door (right side of the panel) behind her, leaving the professor shocked in the living room
sfx: "slam!"

the professor walks back towards his lab, depressed, arms hanging.

the professor stares at the future forecast machine screen (in the lab). the screen reads: "the more you achieve, the emptier you will become."

wow, this is really good! I'm currently working on my script and it's almost done. I'm not used to the cartoony style, so it'll be an interesting challenge XD. I'd also like to see an example of how detailed the pencil needs to be, more like a sketch or more detailed, almost like lineart?

We have 100% artistic freedom in every step.
The step 2 (pencils / sketches) don´t even have to be drawn,
every artist can be creative how they do it.

Summary: An emo girl practicing bass alone encounters a supernatural presence when her instrument starts acting strange, leading to an unexpected supernatural crush
Characters:
Raven: Emo girl, dark clothes, smudged eyeliner, band t-shirt, ripped jeans, rings, black nail polish, modern emo style
The Ghost: Translucent emo guy, side-swept bangs over one eye, band shirt, skinny jeans, gauges, hot, y2k emo style
Comic Style: Manga/comic with screentones
Panels: 6
Time: Evening, present
Location: Raven's bedroom
Extras: Black bass guitar with stickers, amp, band posters, string lights, scattered music sheets

Script:
Panel 1
Setting: Raven's room at dusk. She's on her bed, hunched over her bass looking frustrated. Purple sky through window, posters and lights on walls
Raven: "ugh... this bassline sucks..."
Panel 2
Bass strings glow bright blue. Raven jerks back, eyes wide, still gripping the bass
SFX: "hummmmm..."
Raven: "what the-?!"
Panel 3
Glowing mist shoots out of the bass with speed lines. Raven leans way back, shocked face and the Ghost starts forming
SFX: "WHOOOOSH!"
Panel 4
Ghost appears fully, floating, sad expression, emo hair and gauges visible with sparkles around him. Raven dropped the bass on bed, mouth open, shocked
Ghost: "finally... someone played my song..."
Panel 5
Raven and ghost facing each other. Ghost looks hopeful, Raven's getting over the shock
Raven: "are you gonna kill me or something?"
Ghost: "nah. been stuck in that bass since 2008. thanks for freeing me."
Panel 6
Raven looks away blushing hard, hand on face. Ghost floats closer, smiling. Something romantic like flowers in the background
Raven (quiet, embarrassed): "ok but... you're like really hot for a dead guy..."
Ghost (smirking): "i can work with that."

Traditional is great when you can send a scan.

My brother only draws traditionally and he has
a basic but wild style. I colored and lettered his
comic digitally

"Man Rat v. Bird Man"

Summary: A man controlling rats is fighting a bird controlling men.

Characters: Man. Mans rats. Bird. The birds men. Referee. Audience.

Comic Style: Your choice.

Panels: 6. Panel 6 should be the biggest. 2 and 4 the next biggest. 3 and 5 are just text.

Time/location: Arena that is brightly lit. Bleachers/audience/room surrounding arena dimly lit.

Script:

Panel 1: Shot of arena with an audience cheering all around it. Referee in the middle. Two creatures in opposite corners.

Referee: “In this corner, we have…”

Panel 2: referee: “Man Rat! A man operating a suit of rats!”
Show a man piloting a hundred+ rats. He holds a kite handle with a bunch of string extended to various rats. The rats hold him up like a suit of armor.

Panel 3: VS!

Panel 4: Bird Man! A bird controlling a suit of men!
Show a pigeon piloting a dozen or so men, all hunched over, forming a human spider. The men have bird poop on their clothes. Pigeon also holds a kite handle, with string tied to the mens teeth/hair/arms.

Panel 5: Referee: FIGHT!!!

Panel 6: Rats are climbing on/biting the men. The men are stomping on/shooting/spraying the rats. Bird is flying about frantically. Audience is cheering. Can make this panel as violent/detailed as you want.
Man Rat: Hey Peter! This fight is for the birds!
One of the Birds Men: John Boy! Never thought I’d see you in da rat race!

Summary: Anna is sitting calmly on a bench enjoying her sandwich and having a few minutes of peace before going to her classes, when a seagull attacks her.
Characters: Anna (a teenager, blonde hair, casual clothes), Seagull
Comic Style: Cartoony (/your choice, you have artistic freedom)
Panels: 6 (with a mini 7th panel next to Panel 6)
Time: Present, afternoon
Location: seaside
Extras: bench, her backpack, trees, birds in the background

Script:

Panel 1
Anna sits on the bench, holding a sandwich, smiling.
Anna: "Finally... a moment of peace before class."

Panel 2
A seagull lands on the ground in front of her, tilts its head, eyes locked on the sandwich.
Anna (thinking): “Aw, cute little guy.”

Panel 3
The seagull takes a step closer, wings slightly spread.
Anna (thinking, nervous smile): “…Wait. Is it looking at my sandwich?”

Panel 4
The seagull suddenly flaps up and lunges at her sandwich.
SFX: “FLAP! FLAP!”
Anna (shouting): “HEY!”

Panel 5
Anna stands there with the paper the sandwich was wrapped in, while the seagull flies away with the rest of the sandwich in its beak. She looks at it in disbelief.

Panel 6
Anna sighs in disappointment, her shoulders slumped.
Anna: "I guess I'll go to class now."

Small Panel 7 (next to Panel 6)
The seagull flies happily away with the sandwich in its beak.

Part 2 Sketches / Pencils:

turn the script into a "sketch"
100% artistic freedom.
Traditional or digital.
Stick figures or any style that you want.

Just a little side note, I somethimes worked with people
who didn´t feel comfortable with drawing and so they gave
me screenshots (the Sims for example), movie screenshots
that they put into comic page format), collages from already
existing panels. Everything can be turned into a comic imo
and it will be inked / changed anyway and then colored.

The deadline for this stage is october 12.
I will upload my sketches soon for the story from @miuthecat so @kokichiluvr
can ink it in stage 3
