I'll do another, this one for my current (and currently updating) series, Finding Daecon's Way:

1: Finding Daecon's Way is my first work of fiction and is based on childhood dreams/daydreams about sprouting wings and flying

2: The main character Daecon's name was originally going to be Hunter, and the story was just going to be called "Hunter". Halfway through writing it I decided that I didn't like the name and changed it to Daecon. The name of the series was changed to Finding Daecon's Way because I wanted it to reflect the personal growth that Daecon experiences (at the beginning of the story he starts out as a rich, arrogant, and utterly rudderless man with no direction in life - he is simply existing).

3: The first word in the book is "Shit". Daecon is being attacked and assaulted and realizes he is in trouble, and that is how we are introduced to him: In mid attack. Originally the first word was F--K but I dialed it back a bit. (I should note that I mean the first word in Chapter 1, not the character intros or anything preceding)

4: All of the royal clan character names begin with the letter D. I don't know why I picked D (probably because of Daecon) but I wanted family names to be similar: Grandfather Dontarion, father Darion, son Daecon. This is probably influenced by LOTR (Gimli son of Gloin)

5: The first book of Finding Daecon's Way is almost fully published (the final chapter is scheduled to go live in late November) but there is another book being written right now that continues the story and will close it out. There is a third book planned as well but it will be a sci-fi AU version with the same characters but a completely different setting/plot (think mid-future, say 50 years out, and instead of shapeshifters, biological androids).

6: Bonus fact: Even as the final chapter is near publication there are several things that I want to change about the story. Not major things, just details such as eye colours and maybe a bit more detailed account of Daecon immediately before the main events start to happen.

Kyara and Zack were originally written as 1 character (also named Kyara) before I decided to split her into two disctinct characters.
Both the comic and the original animated short premiered on the same day, May 27th.

Back when I was exploring the idea of making a comic, I considered using a time travel mechanic.

1- Luca Vincenzo is based on Conor Mcgregor and Sanji from one piece. Conor Mcgregor because the mindset of someone that is successful and ends up spiraling out of control is somewhat interesing to me and Sanji because I hate his character.

2- The story is based in an exact replica of the real world only with supernatural being existing in the background.

3- Majority of the main cast are not meant to be examples but rather as morally flawed individuals that grow in someway.

4- The first antagonist of the series would actually be considered as a good person in real life but we wanted to write the protagonist as the villain there to flip it on its head.

5- Three factions serve as a power balance in the series world, namely the GMCO, the Mafia and the Vincenzo Family

1) while on webtoon i'm just on 62 reader after a few years, in less than one i've reached 150 on Tapas.
2)The temple were ChiLiang and others lives is fictional, but the place (Mount Hua) is known to be a sacred mountain in China.
3)Magic is well used and accepted in many nations that have differents gods, but in Euroe and wherever Christianity rules no one is able to use it anymore. Firstly because is forbidden, secondly because there's no actual deity to ask for help.
4)Fiammetta's dresses are all sanctified in order to not let them burn.
5)Differently from WuKong, ChiLiang eat everything , being cooked or raw.

1.) This story was inspired by Code Lyoko season 4. More specifically when William became a herald for X.A.N.A. so to speak.

2.) This story is in an alternate universe from the main continuity I’ve designated Earth 33.

3.) This story has been in the works since 2020.
4.) This will be the last series that uses traditional art. All future comics I produce will be digital

5.) The main character in the story is a good guy in the main continuity

My webcomic (Outcasts) is mainly inspired by novels/books that I wrote when I was younger. I've kept a lot of the same elements (characters' names, powers/abilities, etc.). I'm just a very visual person and wanted to improve my art + my storytelling skills!
The main character (Grace) in Outcasts is actually based on an old drawing I drew in my sketchbook when I was trying to improve my character design/poses. While I've made a few modifications to her design, she's still the same OC.
The fact that Grace and Gabe are twins is somewhat inspired by the TV show, Gravity Falls, and their contrasting personalities (Grace is an adventurous extrovert & Gabe is more of an introvert) are based on the 'opposite-personality twin' trope.
Josh and his "big-brother personality/responsibilities" is both based on the 'big-brother' stereotype as well as acting as somewhat of a parental figure for Grace, Gabe, and Dustin. (Dustin is also based on the youngest-sibling stereotype, but I try to keep it as close to reality as possible).
The main purpose of this webcomic (the passion or purpose behind it) is to show that we all have our own special gifts, whether it be art, writing, etc. (This is where the Myers kids' magical powers come into play; the powers are, quite literally, their special gifts). I want people to know that it's okay to be a little different, and we shouldn't judge people based on their quirks. There's a reason this webcomic is called Outcasts.

Love the idea of this thread!

I wrote the outline while working as an Assistant Language Teacher in Japan.
It's not a true isekai! It's set in a fantasy world that the characters live in except a hero from another world comes there.
The main character's name means black in Japanese, but it's really just a fun way to say "crow" like the bird he was named after. It's a fun opposite to the isekai hero, Shiro.
It's inspired by how all my D&D campaigns went. I play the well intentioned hero and more often than not I end up causing a whole lot of trouble.
The world they live in is medieval in setting, but has a mixture of Asian and American cultures in their towns. Hence why they have a lot of Japanese inspired dishes.

1) The war in Blue Eagle, Cricket Prince is based on the conflict between Han Dynasty China and the Xiongnu (Mongol) Confederation. I got inspired by an article I was reading about different forms of empire (I study archaeology).
2) Khojin's scars (yep, the ones on his face), aren't actually from a fight.
3) Zhisen's xiao guan (the gold headwear) belongs to his deceased brother.
4) The characters of Zhisen's name (智森) mean "wisdom" and "forest." He's not a forest-y person— his mother had a similar character in her name, so that's where he gets it from.
5) When I was thinking of how to name the book, I walked past a bookstore showcasing Marlon James' book Black Leopard, Red Wolf, and liked that title structure. So I came up with metaphors to represent the main narrators, and here we are!

5 facts about "Signs Point to Bobbie":

After launching this March, it's already reached over 230 subs, 26k views, and 1k likes on Tapas!
I created the characters around 9 years ago, except for Gabriel who was created maybe 3 years ago or so.
All of the ASL shown in the series is researched by me to make sure it is as accurate as possible. I've even learned some ASL through drawing it, though I was learning a bit before too.
"Signs Point to Bobbie" is my first webcomic, and my second full-length comic project (the first was a comic book made for my BFA thesis).
These characters were originally supposed to be side characters in a different story. I scrapped that story because well, it wasn't great lol. I scrapped the old main character too. And years later here we are!

So, here's a few fun facts about my novel:

1 - Addai, during his first outline, had a terrible red-flag personality
2 - It was going to be a dark story, but I changed my mind and turned it a lot lighter
3 - The series are a minor part of my other work that I'm reviewing and reshaping. This especific novel is more mature and... dark. So Complex Love is the sunny side lol
4 - I like to study emotions in writing and I apply some of my researches on my texts
5 - I'm a brazilian author (and sometimes I do struggle with English lol) - um dia ainda coloco a novel traduzida ou no Tapas mesmo ou no Wattpad hehe

1.) The original concept was inspired by a series of RP and short stories between my friends and I stretching back to high school. Conri is my own character, but also apart of a trilogy that is being written by my friend (stelliferous-illustration on Instagram)

2.) I went through 4 or 5 different variations before finalizing Conri's arcane talent which included things like hypersensitivity, sound manipulation and negation

3.) There are a few cameos of my friends oc's including Emmett (different name), Ian Brassworth, Sirene and Penelope

4.) Each chapter title is inspired by a song I have included in Conri's OST on my Spotify

5.) The character for Landis was inspired by the artwork of gray-sinnings (on all socials, LOVELY NSFW portraits)

Five fun facts for The Last Rae of Hope:

Initially, the story was going to be a straight-up isekai. However, after receiving an early review that said, ‘I guess the publishing company is out of the story now,’ I decided, no, you know what? I will double down on the idea of the publishing company playing a significant role until the very end.
Here and there, I like to sprinkle in quality improvement themes. My day job involves continuous quality improvement processes and projects focusing on complex systems issues to make them safer. We look at people, processes, and tools. It turns out that when a system is complex, and an error occurs, it’s often not a particular person’s fault but all the things happening at a higher level that sets up that person for failure. So, why blame the Demon King when you can look at the system that made the Demon King a thing in the first place?
There are many hidden meanings in everyone’s name, except for the Goddess herself. Euphridia, to my knowledge, is entirely made up (though I like the sound of it).
I planned to break the fourth wall from the beginning because I love the idea of omake.
Nora, the main character’s best friend, is modeled after an amalgam of three friends in real life. With their powers combined into one being, I am certain they could take over the world. ^^

Here’s a few cool things about my novel, “I Shall Rewrite the Stars”:

I took inspiration for my story from the real historical figures of Cleopatra’s children. I’ve always wanted to write a story with her daughter Selene as the MC, and so far I’m really loving how it’s turning out.
I originally planned for this story to be 60 chapters long, but after writing an outline, it’s looking to end up around 120.
I’m trying to keep a more positive, hopeful vibe through the story, but there’s some dark turns it'll take and I’m still not quite sure how I want to go about navigating them.
I have a huge interest in ancient world history and cultures, so a lot of the places, buildings, clothing, etc. are based off of real places and things you could go visit or see online. I like to mix reality with fantasy; it helps a ton when writing descriptions.
“I Shall Rewrite the Stars” is the first story I’ve ever put out in front of people. My best friend’s taken on the challenge of looking at my heap of stories over the years, and urging me to share some, but this is the first time I’ve pushed through my nerves and tried. I’m so grateful for the views and kind comments I’ve gotten so far. This community has so many nice people

Here are some Tales of Beleben fun-facts

It was originally a slice-of-life comedy following the misadventures of 3 English knights (this was back in late 2020)
August VI's beta form was a peasant whose mom died and Felix's beta form was the son of a noble. kind of funny how they kinda switched social roles
The idea to make Tales of Beleben came from the movie Monty Python and The Holy Grail
Bruno III was originally intended to be the main villain of the story
Mia was originally a comedic relief character who pined after August VI (with no avail) then her character fell out of the canon for a while until she was re-purposed as Bruno III's lover.

5 facts about Saudade::

1- It was a Death Note AU fanfiction in 2008~2009, around 2009~2010 it became an original novel, and in 2020 I revived the story to make my comic. I changed the whole plot xD but the idea of the relationships stayed. That's why my characters are designed to look like the boys from Wammy's House, to remember the origin of it all. Even the names.

2- In the original novel, Nate was suposed to have cancer, but as I grew I decided to write something that have more meaning to me. That's why it's heavy on mental health stuff, since I'm neurodivergent. I put a lot of my experiences on my characters, most on Nate, poor boy.

3- The relationship of Matt and Nate is based on my relationship with my best friend. And I think I unconsciously made some characters based on my alters (I have DID and stuff xD), and some scenes they are the ones who write, when I go back to read the scrip I have no idea what's written sometimes, it's always a surprise.

4- Talking about the script, I never know where the story is going. My writing process is organic, I just write and is like my characters are alive and doing their stuff. I once read that GRR Martin was like that and I'm gonna quote.

I think there are two types of writers, the architects and the gardeners. The architects plan everything ahead of time, like an architect building a house. (...) The gardeners dig a hole, drop in a seed and water it. They kind of know what seed it is, they know if planted a fantasy seed or mystery seed or whatever. But as the plant comes up and they water it, they don't know how many branches it's going to have, they find out as it grows.

That's why my scrip is so long and I think I'll never end it xD I've been working on my comic for 3 years and I'm now close to the half of what I've written, and it's far from the end. I want to write so much of their lives that I'm scared of how many years it'll take.

5- The title Saudade is a portuguese word and I chose that because of the longing feeling the comic has all around it. Not gonna lie, in the beginning I was going to kill a character so it was going to make more sense xD but I changed my mind as I dont want to make it darker than it is. And I want a happy ending, as it's about depression and I (want to) have hope for the future, so I dont want to make a depressed character give up. Cuz I dont want to give up.

Some fun facts:
1. Chasing Grief's main character does not really have a name. Because it's needed for information, I just named her Mary because she feels and looks like a Mary in my head.
2. No one really has a name in Chasing Grief; they just have common identifiers that are unique to them in the story like "she/her" pronouns for the main character, "he/him" pronouns for her love, the Shepherd for the shepherd in the second part of the story (can also be God himself), the Reaper for the reaper (or Death himself), and the sirens.
3. The main character is also attracted to women. She's not straight.
4. The sirens don't really have a specific sex or gender in my story.
5. Depending on your interpretation, the ending can be good or bad.

This is the third to the last chapter of my story, Chasing Grief :)) Chasing Grief is about a woman who lost her love and is trying to navigate her feelings of grief, loss, and sadness. She goes through life, death, and everything in between to get answers to all her questions. I've been working on this for 3 years and is a parallel story to my D&D campaign
The last sentence of book 1 will be "I am ready"
This started off with the Epilogue chapter, that was Milos backstory for a mini D&D campaign
Milo, Corym, Lila, Chrissie, Calixa, Ezra and Lockwren have all been D&D characters at some point
Not everyone survives
No one is fully straight since sexuality is a construct without definition here
