Oh yeah, being a poor 90s kid was... a thing of its own When I was very young, we had one of those huge old TVs, with knobs you had to turn to change the channel or volume. At least it had colors... The newer CRT we got when I was 10 still works fine btw, lol.
There weren't many channels to choose from, so the only movie/tv show/cartoon memories I have are of the stuff that was available on the free TV (most of it old, reruns of reruns, things that were either extremely famous or totally obscure). I do have some nostalgic memories of what I did watch, but a lot of media I just missed out on.
Part of it is how I had basically no say in choosing my music taste until I had internet - I had no MTV or any way to download songs; nowhere (and no money) to buy records, either. There weren't many radio stations where I live, either. So my taste in music was very... basic, and I called myself a fan of a band after hearing 2 of their songs on the radio and seeing a snippet of a music video of the 3rd Also, waiting for the song you like to be played on the radio so you can tape it?!! Surely someone else in this thread finds this relatable?
