A Good or Terrible Plot?

I really want to start my own webcomic in the near future, but I'm not sure if the plot is good. For those who DO CARE, here are a few things you need to know;

Kinda similar to the TV show Supernatural, the webcomic is a T+ mystery/crime series that takes place in a fictional city. We follow two police detectives who are assigned multiple crimes (Murder, theft, etc...). However, when the duo is assigned a new case, they realise that not only is the culprit "special", but there are many others out there who are just like the culprit themselves.

In each episode (Chapter, whatever you want to call it), the police officers are assigned a new case with the following things:
1) RARELY the criminal is just a regular human;
2) MOST of the time, the criminal is "special" (As written above);
3) The protagonists crash into a "special" criminal by coincidence (Yes, THAT trope OwO);`
4) A few of the protagonists' colleagues might need help dealing with a "special" criminal.

Note - Some episodes may be centred on ONE of the protagonists and probably take place elsewhere.

As the series progresses, a new character will come tagging along with the protagonists and their shenanigans while the mysteries surrounding the supernatural criminals begin to unravel…

I don't see a plot here...

It's hard to tell what kind of story you're trying to tell here since it's just concepts and abstract words like "special". If I don't even know what "special" means or anything about the characters and villains other than that they're playing cops-and-robbers, I can't give any feedback, sorry!

You may want to clarify your characters' and villains motivations, what your conflicts and story goals are, and if there are any lessons learned at the end. If you don't want to write spoilers on the forum then you may want to just confide with a friend over private message.

After reading all of your comments, I just realised that I was a lot vaguer than I expected. So I decided to slap a plot summary together to prevent any more confusion;

As the crime rate continues to skyrocket in a peaceful Canadian city, the fight for justice becomes more severe.

When police detectives Aya Morris and Dawn Cortez are assigned a burglary case, the search for the culprit begins. However, when the pieces begin to fall together, the duo soon realises that not only does the culprit possess a supernatural ability, but there are many others out there who are just like the culprit themselves.

Although each supernatural criminal commits a different crime, they may have more in common than Aya and Dawn first suspected...

Okay, it's a little better, but I still don't really know what the driving conflict is. Burglary sounds tame. Is this a rare artifact that could be used to destroy the world? Did somebody die during the burglary that's connected to the characters? Is the culprit a clue to unanswered questions in the detectives' dark pasts? It sounds like a generic mystery so it's still hard to give any feedback. Can you answer "why should I care that the detectives solve the case?"

I think it sounds cool. I always enjoy supernatural and paranormal themed stuff and I absolutely love episodic narratives because done right they can be extremely fun and creative.
Of course, it still depends on your execution. But that kind of plot gives you a lot of space to play around and be creative with the different criminals.

Good idea so far. It's simple and easy to play around with.

Now you just need to focus on the actual execution, which is probably one of the most important parts of a webcomic.

It's really hard to judge based solely on plot whether a story will turn out well, a lot of it relies on execution. Your story also would seem to rely heavily on characters, so fleshing them out well might be just as important as creating the plot. You seem to have a solid setup for how each chapter would run so that's good!

For this, if you like that trope then go for it! I know a lot of people hate love triangle tropes, but I choose to use them because I actually really enjoy them. If you however are only choosing to use that trope because it moves your story along and you're not that fond of it, maybe consider a reason as to why your protagonists are always bumping into special criminals. Are they some how connected? Are the special criminals actually after them for a reason? Is one of the protagonists maybe special themselves?

I'm a sucker for supernatural detective type stories. Do a good job weaving the mystery and it'll be great!

I remember some supernatural novels I read a while back explained these kinds of coincidences as "like draws to like", with the idea being once you've bumped into something supernatural/become aware of it, it just starts happening more and more. It's also a bit like when you learn a new word, you suddenly hear it everywhere.

The plot is something we've seen before-- so it's a good base... execution and character motives will make it unique.

I will agree with what @solhawthorne said about burglary being tame.

Comic Series to Animated Series

Hey guys, long time no see!

As mentioned in the title, I'm turning my future comic series into an animated series. Although I haven't made a solid plot yet, I've made quite a few drastic changes to it. Yes, there will be some crime solving, but I've also added some horror aspects and dark subject matter to it (BECAUSE CREEPYPASTA INSPIRATION, THAT'S WHY). There will be four protagonists, including Aya Morris and Dawn Cortez (Aya is now a lawyer and the two other unnamed characters are a psychiatrist and an astronomer ;3). For this reason, I will stop using this forum (Maybe...).
