I used DeepL Pro (which is similar to Google Translate) to do some translations of French and German books into English, and it really isn't that easy. The main thing it does is turn a well-written book in French or German into a badly written book in English. So, in each case, I have to spend weeks going through the translation and fine-tuning it into something readable.
So, translation programs ARE useful tools, but they are not a quick fix, and in order to get something good out of them you need to be fluent in the language you're translating something into.
