Sure, but one can be pretentious and spiritual about anything. Something like: You are the orange, exposed to the difficulties of life, left to your own devices by an uncaring world. Though mosquitoes come and assail you, you give generously of your own energy to sustain them. In time, without help, you weaken and die, as all mortal things must.
