I’m just gonna spout random animes that I’ve either finished or started watching.
One Punch Man
Mob Psycho 100
Mashle
MHA
DBZ
One Piece (obviously didn’t finish)
Yugioh
Land of the Lustrous
Jujitsu Kaisen

That’s all I thought of

Oh wow, i forgot mashle. It has to be one of my favorites

Dungeon Meshi! It's such a good fantasy anime. Go Go Loser Ranger/Ranger Daishikaku is also pretty good, but those are newer ones. For older ones there's Darker Than Black, Bungou Stray Dogs, Un-Go, Saiki K/The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Terror in Resonance, Gintama, Kobato, Magic Knight Rayearth, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, Big O, Gundam Wing, Gundam 00, Dantalian no Shoka, Ouran High School Host Club, Inuyasha, Noragami, Buddy Daddies, Dororo, Kekkai Sensen, and I'd also recommend the earlier Fullmetal Alchemist series because it's still really good though it was shorter and very different to Brotherhood.

I really loved Sand Land. It's based on one of Akira Toriyama series but it has more of a Mad Max vibe.

If you are open to watching older stuff, you could try .hack//SIGN

  • Dungeon Meshi
  • The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (and it's movie The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya and if you're down for a slice of life au with a sprinkle of og timeline references you can also try The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan or it's comedy spin off The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya)
  • Lucky Star and it's spin off/sequel Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku
  • Durarara
  • The Legend of Hei (more movie than anime but still good)
  • Mekakucity Actors (based around the Kagerou Project/Kagerou Daze manga and song series but can still be enjoyed standalone as it's its own timeline)
  • Sword Art Online
  • The original Black★Rock Shooter anime that debuted in 2012
  • Girls Last Tour
  • Haibane Renmei
  • Serial Experiments Lain
  • Madoka Magica and if you're up for it it's got two(?) movies and a side story Magia Record
  • BNA
  • Promare (another movie)
  • honestly any of the Miyazaki movies if you haven't seen em yet
  • Buddy Daddies was pretty interesting imo

but honestly there's a lot out there it's just branching out and looking for stuff that's outside your usual which is honestly how I came across a handful of the above series along with suggestions from folks across the web.

It also helps to divorce online opinions when going into those shows coz there were some series I'd actively avoided due to online hate both during their original air time or after but then after going in and forming my own opinion either realized that some hate was just viewer bias while other criticisms (sometimes) actually had a point but it's good to think for yourself first than getting trapped in "well _ said it was bad so maybe i should skip it" coz you might miss out on a new fave or just something fun to watch

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (This is my all time favourite)
Inuyasha
Wolf's Rain
Beastars (You can find it on Netflix too, the end season is coming around December if I know well)
Erased
Hachimitsu (one of my fav, it has great musics)
Orange
Vampire Knight
Aoharaido
Chihayafuru
Kanon (2006)
Cowboy Bebop
