I made a thread like this before, but now I'm doing again but with different questions

  1. What made you want to make your comic?

  2. What's your favorite book?

  3. What's your next subscriber milestone?

Here are my answers:

  1. I looked at Youtubers like TheOdd1Sout and Ice Cream Sandwich, and they both made comics in the past. I wanted to also try to make comics, and I'm liking it so far

  2. This is a tough one. Either The Giver, because it remind me of when school was open, or The Red Pyramid, because I liked the book

  3. My next subscriber milestone is 50 (I'm at 30)

And finally, here's my comic:

It's comedy

Hello!
My name is Laura,

  1. I started as a reader on Tapas and Webtoon and I saw this as a chance to write my own story.
  2. My favorite book is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
  3. My next sub milestone is to reach a hundred.

And here is my comic. Enjoy!

I hope I can answer this for a novel.... if not let me know and I'll take it out

  1. Well in my case write. (sorry!) and to have something real after doing thousands or RP's
  2. The sword of truth series  so Terry Goodkind
  3. 250  I'm at 227 right now

Three questions ye want, three answers ye shall receive.

  1. I made the guild of the maltese falcon after reading a couple of issues from the manga, Cat's eyes. I wished to do more of a comedic version of it that was a bit reminiscent of the classic pink panther film series with peter sellers. Capture the flag come from years of reading Spy vs Spy and other works from Antonio ProhĂas.

  2. Anything done be Clive Cussler. He's really good at storytelling. I've enjoyed the Issacs Bell series a lot and I look forward to reading more.

  3. Hard to say. With they way things are going right now, It would have to be at least around 30 or 35, depending if any of my stuff connects with the readers.

Now that I've answered your questions three, here is my comic for ye ... to read.

It just got a new episode today. Read it and laugh!

1.I had some free time during the lock down and conversations with a friend of mine were funny for both of us so I decided to share it in the form of a doodle comic. I've received such a good response to it, that I've decided to make a Volume 2.
2.Anything by Enid Blyton. But I also enjoy reading works by William Shakespeare.
3. I'm aiming for 50 subscribers next and I'm hoping that happens by this week. Although for me, the views and comments please me more.

This is mine

Happened to miss the last one so guess I'll hop on the train now :yum:

  1. Probably reading so many as a kid and as I grew up. Online comics or webcomics specifically probably back in my old deviantart days, back in like 2010-2012. Watching people like Snailors, Evan Stanley, lujji and a handful of others here on Tapas I couldn't help but think "hey maybe I can do that too" especially having a pre-existing interest in comics and storytelling

  2. Most of the stuff I read on Tapas probably (and my reading list is available for anyone to see) but outside of that would be the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, manga like Full Moon wo Sagashite, Anima+, Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Shinshi Doumei Cross, and Kagerou Daze and comics by folks I've followed across the net like Evan S.'s Ghosts of the Future. To pick just one is kind of impossible

  3. Probably 1k overall. I think it'd be a miracle if I had that many for a single series. I've already managed to make it up to 699, and would love to round it out at 700 already, but that's about as far ahead as I can really see at this point.

As for my comics, you can find em here (each returning sometime this month):

I don’t see why not.

  1. Wanting to tell a story by only relying on myself, so I choose webcomic and taught myself how to draw.
  2. The Bone series, probably does not count but I love all of the books so much from the characters to the dialogue.
  3. My next milestone is 20
    Subs!

And here is my web comic:

  1. A friend who had always encouraged me to make comics1 died suddenly in a car crash (Rest in peace, Maggie) and queer female/nonbinary femme creators had some big hits like Steven Universe and Netflix She-Ra. I was able to get down to part-time hours at my job and wanted to make something original after years of making commercial work on other people's IP, so going back to comics felt like a good idea.

  2. Oof... I have to pick ONE book? I did my degree in English Lit, so I kinda love books. I guess the book I've read more times than any other is probably Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. As much as Iove Miyazaki movies, the movie doesn't hold a candle to the book. I'm also a big fan of Frankenstein by Mary Shelly.

  3. 2000 subs. :cry_02: Once you're past 250 your only real milestone is the 2k you need to pitch a Tapas original, I guess? Though I guess my personal milestone is 100 pages, at which point I'll be approaching the point where I could print a book.

This sounds pretty fun!

  1. I grew up reading lots of classic comics, like Archie, Garfield, Casper The Friendly Ghost and even comics featured in an old magazine like book called "Disney Adventure Magazine", they inspired me to wanna create my own characters and series.

  2. "The Phantom Of The Opera" by Gaston Leroux.

  3. So far I have 12 subscribers, I'm hoping to get to 25 right now.

Here's my comic.

https://tapas.io/series/Water-Lily-High1

  1. My comic has kind of a long history. Originally I programmed a text game with a friend, which was never finished. Nevertheless, the story in it inspired me to make a comic of my own. And so I did, after my friend encouraged me to!
  2. My favourite book? I don't read a lot of books, but it's probably one of the Harry Potter books. Either the Goblet of Fire or Prisoner of Azkaban.
  3. I'm currently on 75 subs, slowly reaching 100 subs (and activating ad revenue)

Hellooo~

  1. I wanted to make my comic because I'm a horror lover but nowadays horror is just about jumpscares and shock value; so I'm trying to write a story that goes much deeper than that!

  2. I don't really have a "favorite" book but I read primarily biographies about people who lived through wars or hard times etc. I can recommend several if anyone also likes biographies?

  3. Subscriber-wise I'm still trying to reach the 25 subscribers milestone~

  1. Honestly, I'm not sure. I'd contemplated making one since middle school and actually started forming the rough skeleton of my current comic before 2010, but didn't seriously consider drawing it out until last year. I moved with my husband and found myself unemployed and struggling to find a job after the relocation. Eventually, because I had free time for the first time in my life, I began dinking around with the character designs and concept art. A few gentle nudges from some close friends and my husband later, here I am.

  2. This is such a hard question for me since I absolutely love reading. The first one that comes to mind would be The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson simply because it was such a huge inspiration when I was building the world in my comic. Otherwise, I would have to say Where the Red Fern Grows. I have never cried so hard reading a required book for school. Ever.

  3. 50 subscribers. I'm at 35 right now

My comic is also available on Webtoon for anyone who prefers that.

I was so surprised when I first found out that Howl's Moving Castle was a book! I checked it out from the library immediately after I found out and binge read it so hard. The movie definitely does not do it justice.

1 A contest I literally saw on the day it opened. I thought it would be fun to try to finish a whole comic in 2 months (I did not) plus a deadline makes you stop fooling around. ;D

2 The Winter Prince. It's the most savage King Arthur tale I've ever read.

3 Uuuuhhh 50 I guess would be cool

  1. I've had my characters for such a long time and I always had a story in mind for them, so I always wanted to put them on a page and share them with others in hopes they would like them just as much as I do.

  2. I don't really have a favorite book, but I do like the Fazbear Frights book series.

  3. My next milestone is 25 I'm at 17

Into The Shadows

My comic:
https://tapas.io/episode/1752288

1) the idea came from a contest I did a few years ago.

2) my favorite book is the lies of lock lamora.

3) my next milestone is 50 subs

  1. I already had the idea for it when a friend and I were just talking about it as a joke. They didn't seem to be too interested in it after a bit and now they don't talk to me at all, so I kinda dropped the idea for a bit. I've always wanted to make comics but I never really knew how so they didn't go well. Then I started watching videos by McKay & Gray and Lavendertowne. Those taught me a lot about drawing and planning comics and that gave me a lot of enthusiasm to try again. So here I am, starting yet another comic, but this time I'm smarter.

  2. My favorite is Wings of Fire book 3/9. It's not the best book series in the world, but I enjoy them and the protagonists of books 3 and 9 are easily my favorites.

  3. 25, because I only have three

My comic:

  1. There's hardly any Western-Asian comics

  2. My own comic (Yes)

  3. I don't know. I just want people to read my shit

My comic discusses the high school struggle from an Asian man perspective and the ostracization and hostility the protagonist face.

  1. Nachos Con Carne was based off characters I had in my head since the sixth grade. I spent the next few years making up stories in my head with these characters, and then reading comics like Sluggy Freelance and Megatokyo in college inspired me to put my characters into a webcomic.
Words. came about because of my frustration about the lack of proper female character development in shonen anime. The characters were taken from some designs I had laying around.
  2. I have a few that I've enjoyed - E.R. Braithwaite's To Sir With Love, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, Frankenstein, 1984, but definitely Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I am a tremendous fan of British humor.
  3. I was lucky enough to have ink support turned on prior to an Inksgiving event, so my current target is 100 subscribers.
