Any fan of Oyasumi Punpun?

I am a huge fan of Asano Inio and his primary work: Oyasumi Punpun. And naturally, my webcomic has a similar vibe as his. Anyways, I realized the best way to find a good webcomic that I would like is to find creators who like & influenced by similar works!

I've read the first 100-150 pages of Punpun - it is an amazing work, even when it is soul-crushingly bleak, and I really hope to start collecting the volumes soon. I've got a bunch of Inio's oneshot stories already, and would love to add Punpun to the collection as well!

YEAH!! a while ago, they started selling translated version of Oyasumi Punpun! i really wanna buy all the volume

Punpun is probably one of my favorite manga. I read it all online and I'm so happy the books are coming out now. I've got the first 2, and I'll be ordering number 3 soon.

Nothing I write is really in the same vein as Punpun though. I wish I could come up with something so neat.

Fantastically bleak comic. The third volume just came out in the US, so be sure to pick it up at your LCS!

I love Oyasumi PunPun! Read it earlier this year and quickly fell in love. The last 20ish chapters were hard to put down. I too have been trying to find similar comics to this... And besides a few manga it's hard to match. But I'll check out your comic!

Asano's style is really influencing my next project. Solanin, DDDD, Girl on the Shore... Really can't stress how much I like his work.

DDDD is like my new favorite rn. I love OPP but it does gett too depressing haha. I really love his depiction of ppl. I will be looking forward to ur new project

I've seen the amazing artwork and reallywanted to start reading it, but just like people here mentioned, I've been told it's very it's bleak and depressing That's not really my cup of tea so I've been putting if off for quite some time .

Absolutely huge fan of Oyasumi Punpun, and Asano Inio as well! Apart from Punpun, I've only read Solanin however. I would love to read some of his other works.

His storytelling and art is amazing, and a lot of the themes covered really struck a chord with me. It's not for everyone, as I've read a lot of readers much preferred some of the escapism stuff. But hey, the soul crushing bleakness is why us Oyasumi Punpun fans love it so much

You could try his new work: DDDD (or Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction). It's not as depressing. even the author said in an interview that in DDDD he wanted to do something light-hearted slice of life. But it does cover some issues similar to racism and there are some violence.

hahhaah yeah!! His storytelling is AMAZING!! I refer to his work whenever I plan out my story And he did want to speak to the current gen. and relate to us. I really wish I could meet him in person haha. (Im trying to learn Japanese cuz of this lol).

Haha, yeah, I went pretty crazy over Punpun some years ago, a comic I had drew some influence from it (but that comic is long gone).

Yes, it's not a comic for everyone, I guess you either love it or hate it. Filled with sexual frustration and depression, aside from infidelity, child abuse, suicide, murder... You're really in for a ride if you decide to pick it up.

But certanly a work like Punpun has cemented master Asano Inio as one of the leading mangakas of the new generation. Currently reading Dead Demons, let's see how that one keeps unraveling. Like sachi says "I'm going to crush the world with my manga".

No problem. It's a show I think all artists should watch. Having watched some of the other episodes makes me admire Asano even more. He seems to do such a high percentage of the work all on his own.

I liked it and now I feel like reading it again. Another webtoon that is not about the same exactly but it also has one of the characters drawn differently is Annarasumanara.

Also if it's about a kid as a protagonist I really liked The kids are alright, but even if it's drama I feel like it is more naif and heart-warmimg. In Oyasumi Punpun is like more direct and realisitic but I also like it because of that

Punpun is an amazing manga - it made me want to wipe myself out of existence most of the time, but it is nevertheless a masterpiece
