I have an idea for it, based off of an old NaNoWriMo novel I wrote. My biggest concerns are:
Well, I just submitted my entry. Let's see how it goes.
wow you work fast, mad respect
SAAAAME! That was great!
Uh, for the record, does anyone know if I can submit each episode as it's completed (before the deadline), or do I wait until it's all done?
(I'm planning 5 episodes, 15 panels each, cause I like to torture myself, and it's more doable XD)
Just a question, am I allowed to promote it on the Tapas Discord?
wait is it panels = to pages? as in you can have a maximun of 75 pages but as many panels as fit?I'm gonna ask this because it could be important if some of us actually count pages by accident.edit: it actually make sense given how they're looking for a scrolling format to count the panels intead of the pages. again be careful with this.
I don't see why not?
Speaking of "The Last Train" theme, I just had a story I thought about 6 months back. It's more of a thriller that happens to involve trains it felt like such a random thought, I guess the universe is trying to tell me something. Hm. I might compete in it but it means I would have to postpone production of my current comic to participate.
Idk I want to participate but I'm having trouble thinking of a story fitting the theme of "the last train" lol It also has to be something very short which is a challenge for write me for some reason
Casinos rely on this.
It needs to be for all ages though. So be careful.
By the way, I am a little confused about something. Am I allowed to share the link of my entry on my social media?
from what I've read yes you can send the link to the story, but you can't/shouldn't use the actual pages until July 22. afterwards you can post it wherever you want.@MK_Wizard
Ok because even if I don't win, I still want to share it
ahh, short stories are one of my main things, it's long-form projects that stress me out more
fair, but writing competitions aren't randomized luck the same way casinos are. they are opinion based, but not luck based, which makes a difference
Yeah, but how do you even define "for all ages"? Is it made for kids? Is it for young adults? Either way, I'll just write whatever fits their guidelines in their TOS, after all we are uploading it to Tapas but other creators will probably not understand it as them trying to keep their event within their guidelines. In fact, the wording seems to suggest that it should be made for kids from 0-12+ which is in the best way possible for all ages. It's stupid wording, basically.
Mostly, I'm just pretty sure I lack the technical art skills that'll probably be judged. And I've not drawn a comic in ages, lol.
Also I should probably focus on my novels.
well as long as you let your readers know what you're doing, it's not like you have to drop the novels for good. It could always be fun to try something new right? Your art looked pretty good to me in the thing where you were drawing people's characters for them
