I find this interesting as i have a novel in the wings already split up into a book series. I was trying to get it going on my Patreon but It seem really hard to get anyone in the UK interested in Patreon. (thinking of pulling the plug on that venture) so i might bring my stories here....tbs

Oh, that's great!
I'm a novelist since 14 years old (although I've only published two novels...), so it souds interesting =p

Oh, I didn't know about the novel section! I am a writer myself so this is interesting news!

I'm pretty excited to hear about this. I write as well as draw, and while I have posted my work to other sites, I don't really like the communities or find them as friendly as Tapastic. It would be really useful to bring my writing and comic readers together on one site.

I'm hoping the new novel section will focus on original writing over fanfiction (I have nothing against it, but there are plenty of other sites aimed at that audience, and I like the focus on original content on Tapastic).

I used to write a lot before I jumped onto comics. Now my spare time is all centered on comic making and the craft of art.

I had an actual full-length series planned, but sadly I gave up early.
Maybe I could do it again, just for the new "Tapasti-fic", as a serial, chapter by chapter thing.

I am kinda glad to hear this
I am not skillful enough to make my stories into comic
although I'm equally not good at writing too but its easier than drawing to me stuck_out_tongue

But I am kinda skeptical about mashing writing and comic up ... they kinda appeal to very different range of people.

Yeah I'm definitely excited! My friend and I are actually planning a novel together. It would be cool to post it up here too. Can't wait to also read other people's novels too! >w<

Definitely hyped for it! I write more essays/poems than stories, though, but I'd love to try my hand on it once it arrives.

I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic about the new feature. I think Tapastic should always be first and foremost a web comic site. Anything else should just be a side feature.
And to answer your question, I am a writer-- more so than I am a visual artist. Drawing comics is just a hobby for me, whereas writing is something I actually pursue.

I'm a mix of concerned and interested. I used to write more before comics and now I sink most of my time into the later, and I don't really have any interest on going back at the moment. I assume comics will remain front and center with that in mind sure bring it on. If I ever do get back into pure writing unless there is some amazing incentive I doubt I'd just post it here.

Oh I hadn't heard about this! But that's good news for me, cause then I can upload things non-comic based that rely on collaboration. Blehhhhhhh I'll have to see which of my works are like... most appropro though. I just realized how sexual they can get LOL

didn't know about it until now, but mabe I'll be able to tell my story through words rather than through picture! and it might make it easier to find an artist willing to help illustrate it smiley

Here's on tip that might be useful for you. If you're writing an essay or research, never forget to write references list and don't mess up with citations and styles, it's better to use this citation generator - http://kingcitation.com/cse/, I hope you'll find it useful. With best wishes smile

i consider myself a novelist but i haven't printed anything on paper (everything is digital) does that count? XD
i'm excited about the novel option on tapastic, but their official stance is that it will be available on the mobile app only, they don't plan to update the desktop website to accommodate it at all (unless they have more time or resources idk, seems like it's not a priority)
it will open up more doors i think, which is great since i draw a 4panel comic and sometimes i want to write a longer scene without having to draw everything from several angles just to get the point across.
the most important part is being able to add pictures in the middle of the text, kind of like fairy tale books or children's books that have an illustration of a certain scene.

kinda hard for me to consider getting back into novel writing after investing so much time into comics, plus dialogue has always been easier for me than prose. I like how you can move so much more fluidly with a novel and go back and make edits easily. But I'd miss the ability to penetrate (lol) the reader's mental eye the way you can with comics. I love drawing faces most of all, and you can't capture all the characters' distinct expressions and subtle tendencies without. So yeah I'll be reading all yours guys' stuff, especially some lovely dark fantasy but I'll restrain myself from novels for now.

very true tho lol, you can get away with so much more NSFW in novels. I use a public scanner for my comics, if I ever get to an explicit page I'm going to have to scan at 3 am or something

It's....a possibility that I'll be trying to write a novel in the not too distant future (particularly as Daniel gets closer to it's climax) I've been considering it for a while now, though I'll have to see how the writing side of Tapastic looks before I consider putting it on here. I'm very curious about it though!

I think this is a FANTASTIC IDEA. I can't wait for it!

I'm a writer--I actually wrote a book about a year ago (that hasn't gotten much exposure.). So I'm very excited for this! Maybe I'll start writing more now that Tapastic will have a novel section! ^_^

I personally don't quite like it.
Look at wattpad.
The number of teens who post there, stories seemingly relatable, yet overdone.
Its unfiltered, thats why it sucked.

Though, I honestly think that might slowly kill off the webcomics.

But, we just have to wait and watch.

I'm kind of in a "wait and see" kind of mode. I'm a writer, but I am on this site to see art AND writing.
