Well, I have to admit, reading all of these, besides it being pretty fun cause clichés are funny, kinda gave me some confidence in our thing. 8'D
Anyway, let's see.. Most of the major ones have been said, so I'll go for spooky voice the alaaaarm cloooooock.
No, seriously, how many times did I see a chara's day starting with a shot of the alarm clock ringing and the chara destroying it or mumbling "I don't want to get up..." or both. <_<; We get it, you aren't a morning person. There are more fun ways to show that. Plus, nowadays people don't even use alarm clocks, we have phones for that (I don't even own a clock). It goes along with the "I'm late I'm late I'm late" opening.
It'd be more interesting if they woke up in the middle of the night, wouldn't it? Or, I dunno, being mean to everyone cause they didn't have coffee yet (and it's normally a nice chara maybe).
Of course, there are always those old dudes that have some great power and are supposed to be mains' teachers, but they never actually do anything except say "I feel great disturbance in the cosmic balance. The battle between good and evil is upon us. You need to reach your true power immediately, while I'll just sit here and read the newspaper, even though I could kill all the monsters with just one hit from my mighty ancient fist, but I don't really feel like it, so be a good main character and train", to which the main will groan and proceed some pointless training to be the very best, even though the power was within him the whole time. The old dude knew it, of course, he knows everything, he's always calm and wise.
