I find it kind of funny and rather convenient that you put up this post and I happened to see it after commenting on another thread venting about those who overuse the wall-post-thing.. (sorry I still don't have another term for that..)
I had just suggested someone make a post explaining how the wall-post-thing works, and how to tell when you're using it or abusing it
Also, I know it is a bit of a stretch, but maybe the Tapastic staff could work on making a tutorial-note-thing for those who just created an account or just started their first story on Tapastic that explains how the wall-post-thing works and how it affects their subscribers

When I first joined I uploaded all 20 of my pages at once.

BIG MISTAKE.

Post a page once-twice a week if you have the content. Then you 'trend' on the Tapastic site and more eyeballs become aware of your presence.

I got a lot of traction when I started, then everything died down. Too much competition to just slap your entire comic up and then wait for the traffic to come to you. You've got to keep tossing out the lure every week.

I'm considering redoing it all, but that wouldn't be fair to the small number of subs I have now. Or WOULD IT? BUWHAHAHA (Nefarious Laugh)

But no it wouldn't. blush

Thanks for the tips! I will try my best (Bookmarking this forum) (^▽^*)

LOL. Many do. I noticed your comic the other day when browsing the New section (not the Fresh section) and the pitch and cover look promising ^^

The reason why I perceive this as a mistake is because the new posts wash away very quickly, but for all I know this might be a good strategy.

Oh my god THIS is what i have been looking for! Thank You so much! I plan on starting webcomics and i have so many doubts but i want to stay encouraged to do so u vu thank you kind hooman

Thanks for this! My series drops tomorrow, but I'll be going through the OP to make sure I'm not making too many rookie mistakes!

Hey! I've been a reader for a while, and I'm finally starting my own comic.
I'm sure this was already mentioned at some point, but I would love some advice on how many buffer pages you guys think is a good idea? Knowing me and knowing my life, I'm def going to need them, but knowing about how many I should have before I start publishing would be a huge help.
Thanks!

i think i might start off with a small comic first before drawing my bigger and more planned one, i'll definitely keep these tips in mind though!! :0c

The buffer is all about management! If you can have a month done in advance, that gives you a month to create!
The buffer period has to take into consideration how long you personally take on a page per upload.
It really is only up to you.

oh my gosh this so very helpful!! thank you so much for taking the time to write this.

I've just now gotten into hopefully writing my own webcomic and story soon here on tapastic and this helped me a lot getting an understanding on what to do. Thank you!
(also if anyone else has any tips, i'd be more than happy to get some to help me out)

Hello Vincentprendick! Thank you for all your effort to maintaining this awesome community! I will do my best to contribute as much as I can!

Hello! I am new and I adore this site, I find hit really good! I have a question, I would like to publish comics but I am French and my level of English is not very good... Do you think that I should write all the same my dialogues in English or in French? I am really afraid of making errors of language or writing...

The options I can think of is stick to the language you're good at, and perhaps if you're willing to reach a wider audience you can have a proofreader to help you translate your dialogue as a separate series.

Simply, start with a french version, then if you want, parallel an English version of your series.

Thank you for your answer! I am going to try that! But most of the people present here speak English, I do not know if there is others French, thus it would be better that I begin with English and that later I propose it in French?

Always work with what's most convenient for you, above all.
If you're not great with English but you're fluent with French, start with French and see where it goes.
As long as you don't push yourself.
