Thank you for this, it's really helpful. my own comic is this on progress and I can't start it yet, but I am trying to find good advise from others to be ready when the day comes. I am new in the forums too, so it's really hard to try and be active because I am so nervous XD

This topic is so useful! Thank you for this!
I have been writing a novel for a while already, and when I found this site, I just decided I had to post it here! I need to set up some things first before I do so, but I most certainly will!

This sounds like pretty good advice.
I hope I'll be able to get far on Tapas with your tips! C:

Thank you for posting this!
I'm just starting out on a new series of short stories, I've been sceptical about starting out but you've made a great post for new creators such as myself

for someone who's about to do a comic strip series about bugs, i fear that many of my jokes might fall over people's heads unless i try explain it in the comments or description. how can prevent that from happening.

I know this is geared more toward comics than novels but I think there is real solid advice here for novel writers too! Thank you for taking the time to leave this information for us!

The prospect of writing a comic or a novel is enormous! It's helpful to have something available to get people started on a good positive note! :smile_cat:

i'll keep in mind of this, when i start, one question if the ones that do get featured are the ones that already have a following would you recommend starting on something like tumblr first?

just got here, and I'm definitely following this list!:hushed:

Thanks for this post! I'm VERY new here - I just joined and uploaded my first pages this week. This is all great advice!

I just joined the forums and submitted my first novel to the writing contest. I think this was all solid advice. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I just joined the forum today, trying to figure out how to get more subscribers, and then this is the first thing that comes up. Thank you, bless. This is really helpful.

What is allowed. i ask because my art/novels leans heavily into sexuality and is a bit graphic ie XXX if not XXXXX.

Based on the rules and TOS guidelines, sexual/nudity/gore is allowed if it's:

A) relevant to the plot of your stories
B) are not there for shock-values.

Even if you do decide to show them, you have to have the NSFW tag on for these subjects.

Like, you can have a sex scene in your story if it's relevant to the plot, but you can't have a sex scene in there with the purpose of creating a pornography and to arouse your readers. Same goes for gore.

As for nudity, that actually is ok to have with or without a NSFW tag (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) because Tapas recognizes that nakedness is not inherently sexual. But if it's is shown in a sexual like, it has to be behind the tag, no questions asked.

Well okay, good that clears that subject up quite nicely, and yes I joined because someone on So furry said they were over here, and this is the first time I ever heard of you site.

I am a really good mural artist, if you want to commission me I can advertise your site on a business card or the side of a building or freeway billboard which is about 20,000 times actual size. I paint by hand with a old school style of sign painting; self taught. Most of my murals are around 25 feet by 165 feet long.
Oh the artwork in advertising is way G rated by the way, ie squeakily clean .

using tags is how i usually put my art or comics or chapters up on fa or sofurry.

oh one other small topic is how do i upload something ie my comic or chapter based adult novel?

I found it, still does it have to be finished to publish?

If you how do you do this mechanically, use the publish link in the upper right hand corner on the front page of the main site. Then post one chapter at a time.
