Other than podcasts, the occasional PCP/CWC lecture, or twitch recordings of Demolition_D (please come back soon demo), I've recently been getting into some interesting music - you should check out this stuff too!:
Japanese Shoegaze
This stuff is pretty damn cool - like the name suggests, this is the kind of music where you can imagine looking at your shoe and head nodding. Very nice. Here's a good album:
Mathrock
This too is very interesting - from what I've heard so far, Math Rock consists of slightly irregular timing that's just fresh enough to be interesting.
Generally Ambient Music
This is the kind one plays in the wee hours of night - very calm, relaxing - not the kind of music you consciously listen and follow, but more so contemplate on. Probably the best kind of music to listen to when going to sleep.
Honourable mention - the music of Ichiko Aoba melts my heart every time I hear it.
Imagine you're sitting in a bar - business is quieter than usual, everyone is silently drinking whatever beverage they have in their hand. You're looking down at your glass of beer tired and exhausted from the day's work, wishing only for a reprieve from your fatigue.
Them imagine, ever so quietly and timidly, a young girl walks on to the small stage, sitting on the lone wooden stool, positioning herself in front of the mic. Now, imagine one small breath into the mic - a preparation - and then the ever so soft strums of her guitar. You look at her - every single note feels like a dew dropping onto a little leaf, and her smooth and soft voice accompanies these little patters of rain. You feel relief, finally.
That is pretty much what her music feels like.
Sorry, I really just wanted to sperg out about all this new music I've just found - I'm really fond of it.
