Interesting, just curious but why for manga and not web comics?

Not really, but I have done it for manga/comics to see if the art has gotten better just in case the art at the beginning isn't really to my liking. (i.e. Fruits Basket for the first volume)

Most manga I stumble across already have 70+ chapters as content, which is always a huge commitment to get invested. But webcomics, on the other hand, have much MUCH less, so I start right away. (Also, it is out of respect that I do this too.)

There's generally only one scenario in which I do this and it's where I've clicked a banner or cover or thumbnail for a webcomic that looks amazing, but the first chapter looks so rough I can't believe it's the same work, so then I'll check what later pages look like (just glancing at the art, not reading) to make sure I'm reading the right thing. Sometimes creators evolve a LOT over the course of a webcomic, and it's good to have that reassurance of "yes, this is that comic, the creator just improved and refined their art!" OR "Yes, it's the right thing, but clearly this creator or team prioritised marketing their product over making a good product... this soulless work with rushed internal art may not be your jam".

Not all the way to the ending, but a lot of the time I read the latest few pages (or just pick one in the middle) of a webcomic to see if I like it before I read from the start. orz;; I do it with manga and TV shows sometimes too if it seems like a series I'd really like but I can't get into it.

I don´t go to the end of the story but somewhere in the middle, when I like it then I start reading the story

i check some latest episodes to see if the art is good and if it matches the cover. I don't like when the cover is made in another style like in color and inside there is bw, greyscale or 3d based artwork.

If I find some article that says "REMEMBER THE ISSUE WHERE SPIDER-MAN BEAT THE HULK!?" I'll be like:

"YO, NOW I'VE GOTTA READ THAT ENTIRE ARC DESPITE KNOWING THE CLIMAX."

I don't read, I look if art style suits me, so the best is to see last episode. Because sometimes first ep looks worse than latest, and if I know how looks latest I apreceate more progress of person who wrote/created this comic sesies. But I gave a chance to most of comics anyway. Some got nice art but lore is rubbish, some got worse art but lore is amazing.

Well, I usually do this for comics. I'm really curious to see how much the author's artstyle has evolved, so I tend to check the latest episode they published and the first one. Content-wise, I don't, I start from the beginning of it.

Not for web comics, but I'm not against the practice.
I've done it with popular manga series... cause they're just so long and expensive. I wanna know if it's worth the money/time

If the story doesn't have a continuity, like a Gag-a-day, if i see that page and i enjoy it, will check the comic

If it has continuity, due to the lack of context i check the beginning. However.....if that latest page that happened to hook me, i read from the beginning......

Gotta say i'm harsher judging a beginning tho

Yes, absolutely! For me, a big appeal of webcomics is also seeing how the art style developed over the course of it, so i like reading some recent stuff before going to the beginning and enjoying the art evolution alongside the story!

No, I don't. My mom does and it drives me crazy. Like, I want to try and figure out the ending on my own or just let the plot happen. I don't want to know the ending before I even begin and as a writer I would feel kind of cheated (not sure if this is the right wording) if someone read the last chapter of my story before starting it.

And since the last chapter is completely out of context if one doesn't read up to that point, then how can they say the ending was good or bad?

I usually read the first. In case its like a super long and old comic, I only take a look at the last one to see how the art improved because I love to see those things. But I go for the first in order to see if it is good
