I'm new to this so I just found out I can reply in one giant post....@ScampiCub -The colors and the shading are top of the line!@oga_chan-both old and new art styles are amazing!

(replying so I can see more amazing character designs)
Strangely enough, my character designs for Fallacy have stayed really, really similar from the start. I've just learnt to draw them better and closer to the way I wanted. xD
Here's the main character Nidi 1st time ever drawing him, spring 2013 And 1st time on a comic page, late 2013
Now he looks like this: Basically, his hair got poofier and turned brown. And he ended up shorter than he was in the beginning. not to mention that he wears a lot of different clothes. xD (I re-drew the 1st chapter cover a while ago)
For a comic-in-development there was a bigger change from the 1st time of drawing a character to 4th time when I figured the clothing style I wanted, not only for Temal but for the whole world. It definitely jumped forward in time.
Hello ninja-ish clothes Goodbye ninja-ish clothes
I've never done a side-by-side comparison of my work before. It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, although there's a reason the one to the left is so heavily cropped. haha
She's gone through quite a few changes...
[ I miss my lizard guy tho.... ]
rock titan and forest titan, the very first characters I made when I was 10 renamed Gea Petri and Gea Silvana, this is a redesign I made at age 20
So several years ago I got a tablet and it took me SO LONG to get used to it. The first thing I tried to draw was Tigress Queen but I only got about 10 pages in before I was like 'yeah ok, I have to stop showing this to people' and worked on other stuff for a while. When I came back to TQ, this was the first shot of the main character in the new version of the comic. Was still not very comfortable with the tablet.
Not only did I get comfortable with the tablet from being forced to use it on such a regular basis, I even got a newer, snazzier tablet.
My sketches STILL look better on paper, though. Maybe someday.
@Damatris-I love this character design so much, the poofy hair is great, and I'm definitely going to give Fallacy a read!@Marshminator-Yessssssss.....I'm digging this(the lizard guy is the true star)@SirHellsir-I love when artists continue to draw their ye olde OCs, those titans were drawn so well when you were ten, but THEY GOT BETTER AND COOLER, I'm lovin it™ @lunox99-This character design is so pretty and intriguing, the other two look interesting too, I'll have to read TQ...
I NEED TO READ ALL OF THESE COMICS, you guys are great!!
My first comic ever FRANK N. STEIN I started about 6 years ago and was kinda learning everything over again. This is the main character Reed
.
Ah, thank you so much! Hearing that makes me really happy.
I rarely have super drastic design changes for my characters...I usually refuse to use them for stories if I don't have a design I already really like or sometimes I just drop them if I can't get their design to work.
The human MCs of Kongene Faller didn't change much design wise...if at all.
A different character from the same series has a bit...more noticeable design difference but it was more fine tuning than anything else. The first image is one of the first few pages I drew in 2012, and the second is from a redraw I tried to do a year ago.
However, this character from a currently in development story is probably a rare example of where I drastically changed a design. I didn't like his design at first and it didn't sit well with me, and I didn't go back to redesign him until 6 months later. The redesign is the one on the right.
Wow, your improvements are really drastic! Well impressed.
Gah it burns my eyes to look at my old designs for my character Marija. I can't possibly know why I thought it looked acceptable lol.
Before 2014, I was drawing my characters in a really horrifying way. I used to give them human head proportions with a snout just slopped on there somehow. It's the stuff of nightmares today, but I thought it looked right back then. I don't even want to see it any more. I'm glad my friends told me how bad it really was and motivated me to change it lol.
The character for my series Glitch, Jett, is a relatively new character and his design on changed very very slightly. I can't upload the original sketches of him, unfortunately, because no scanner. But here is a character I have been changed since 2006, Tzuba:Tzuba 2006(Note: his hair is naturally black with silver highlights, but he was in "demon mode" here, and his hair and highlights would reverse)

Asher from my series Abducted has changed a bit from his original design.
this was when I first started drawing digitally last year.
This is my latest drawing him (from chapter 4 aka SPOILERS). I think I've gotten a better handle of digital art now.
Here's two of my characters, then and now.

Oh my gosh, why have I not seen this thread before?
...This statement is too accurate. XD
I feel like I'm looking at one of those dieting ads, only it turns loli goth children into mutant armadillos. XD
Omg, how on earth did your character go from a little girl to a cute...armadillo thing? Whatever she is? I want answers bc this is incredible.
