I have been beating my head against the desk on these two panels for hours now. Now, granted I have been taking breaks to read my how to comic books, or to catch a little X-Files, but when it comes down to it, I am just having a terrible time trying to figure out how to execute this minor tiny thing which really shouldn't be THAT hard.

So now I need to make a decision. Do I cop-out and toss something easy into these two panels to make the Monday deadline? Do I skip my deadline and take the time I need to learn and make the page right, even though I am afraid if I do it once it'll happen more often? Do I post up the WIP and ask readers what should happen, even though it's not THAT exciting of a page?

Maybe I should just make it public and ask you?

sigh

Actually, yes, I'll just ask here --- publicly. You know, this is why I've been trying to network more friends. But, 'eh, I guess this comic IS mainly for my own educational purposes anyway.

Here is a tiny low render. The last page left the main character waking up and getting his feet on the floor. This page is supposed to be him out of bed, maybe stretching, and then getting dressed with a little sexy tossed in. The last panel has him going downstairs which will start the next scene. I am needing help with the top two panels on the right. Original idea was for the top one to be a somewhat silhouette of him stretching in front of the window, with the second being him collecting his cloths from the closet. For me, they are two trickier poses that I SHOULD be able to manage but for some reason it's just not happening when I try to picture them. Especially the lower panel with the closet --- it's the one I like the least.

Not sure how to resolve this block I am having. Thank you for your time.

What the first (second?) panel? A window with side curtains?

Top was to the the curtained window of his room (which was seen on prev page) with him stretching in front of it. Bottom panel (only talking about the top right two) is getting cloths from closet.

I think mainly, I'm having issue composing the shots. So open to alternate ideas and such. Can also change up the panels in that space.

So is the closet anywhere near the window in the first panel? Just asking because what you could do is keep the silhouette stretching in the first panel and then in the second panel keep the bg the same and just have his silhouette to the side picking out clothes. Since you've gone into detail of him dressing I don't think it'll take away any readability not explicitly showing the closet.

Hmm did you try google images using those keywords? One image I got that may be similar to your window scene

Something that helps me is doing really small thumbnails of possible poses and/or getting up and acting it out to get a feel for how the pose might look.
I think you nailed the little bit of sexy part though at the bottom ^^ what about a well developed back at the top and/or a nicely shaped arm messing up his hair? ^^

Potatos are good. And had been kinda thinking something along those poses as well. Brain's just all fuzzy from lack of sleep last night and over saturation of all these how to books. o0

HAd also been considering an underwear shot for that lower panel. smile A little more booty.

Doesn't help that I read "The Art of Comic Book Writing" today and am deep into trying to figure out a whole new way to script either.

And Pocket, that's not a bad idea either. Hmm...

Let's see here.

Thanks! Though my copy of Manga Studio already has a built in Poser. It's just sometimes more work than it's worth. Good for hand gestures though.

Hope you're enjoying my frustrating process!

Time for bed. Gotta try to think of a thing to put in the 3rd (the closet) panel tomorrow in the lower left side to help guide the eye down to that tummy shot. Am trying to be more aware of things like that.

I could probs squeeze it into the bottom right panel? To date, there's been no hint at which level of the house he is on, however.

Don't beat yourself up too much. Sometimes you have to roll with your first try and move on.
As long as it's clear, people will carry on!
