BOHICA Blues is a historical slice-of-Army-life comic about what it was like to deploy to the Iraq War as a Reserve soldier during the Global War on Terrorism, over 20 years ago. I'm not the type of person to keep diaries or journals (I've tried, I just can't get into it) but I did turn my daily activities, adventures, and routines into comics, which closely correspond with the events as they happened.

I've been posting my material from 2013 onward, and by about mid-June of this year (2025) I will have completed the project with the final chapter. If you're at all interested in this historical comic rendering of a real-life event that was full of controversy at the time (and now seems almost nostalgically quaint compared to current events), come check it out in time for the final wrap! I talk about a first deployment, an extension to that deployment, coming home and struggling to find work and to fit in, and then being sent back for a final deployment and the loss that comes with it... but with a dash of absurd humor, because war is absurd.

Come check it out and I hope you enjoy this humorous interpretation on a serious time in history.

Subbed! I'm getting a lot of reminders to my time in the finnish defense force.
