If there is some "Only Readers" here today i will ask.
What will you have in this forum?
How can we as creators, do so you can be a part of it?
Or are you a part of it already?

Well that’s the thing. I think the idea of the forum is it is for the creators. The app is for the readers, so features that would be helpful to creators (like comment notifications) aren’t there but they are on the computer based website. You can link but most wont visit because it’s a pain to log in on your phone. It tells you to go to the app when you try

There are many different kind of user around Tapas.
In my Last BL Comic1 story, I'm gaining good subs and views, but no one comments or even care for the like button.
Under Inksgiving I almost double the sub. But no one was giving Ink.

On the other hand.

I have a slow grow of subs for my Blue Life1 and the readers there (also the readers only) are super supportive and engaging.

I think that it depends on your series, what kind of reader do you attract? If the Reader Only you have not even wanted to write directly at your series, what should they talk about here at the forum? They are only, "Readers Only"

But I do feel you, and I did also like you and many new creators asking the same question.
Where are the readers and how do you find them?

Yeah I can too (and am now) but it is a pain because on my phone it keeps going it failed and I have to go a second time for it to recognize it. You can’t expect a lot of people to be willing to put up with that.

Genuine question: what would readers talk about here, anyway? Readers come to Tapas to read comics, and if they want to talk about comics they read, well... What does the forum offer that the comments section doesn't?

What about the creator start a thread about their own comic? I'm afraid that people will find it petty. Idk

I agree this is a great forum for all creators.
And maybe we just shall let it be like that, and find the readers under our comic/novels.
But how to get the comic/novel out to be seen to the "only readers? (I know there is lot of answar to that around on the forum) but I still ask.

In fact I have just try that

in all honesty, its not about if the readers know or can get access, the readers really don't care, what is the forum to them?. nothing to really talk about when you are not a creator on here. this is why there are no "just readers" on here cause this is basically a creator based forum

I would absolutely love to have readers join on a Tapas forum if it provided a lot of good subjects for them to engage in. I’m sure it could be fun for them to be in on the conversations and talk about our stories that they’re reading with one another and making up theories, or discussing what they love about the stories and art. But I almost wonder if it would be good for readers to have a forum of their own on the Tapas App?

I’m not trying to be negative, because readers are what’s important to a lot of creators. And, I’m just taking this from comments I’ve read on multiple platforms like webtoons, etc. But I fear if we had readers in our forums as well, things could possibly get more toxic. I say this because there will be many more people, they will be discussing what they like and dislike about our work. I don’t want creators to read anything that would be hurtful on this forum unless they’re asking for criticism from other creators.

But I also think that it would be great for readers to discuss amoungst themselves about the theories they have for our work, the characters they love or ship, they styles they appreciate. And if creator’s want to join in on a “readers” forum, then they are making the choice to have the possible chance of seeing criticism of their works, but also seeing positive comments and theories about their work. So, I’d suggest that Tapas have two separate forums, one for creators and one for readers if that’s something that seems necessary.

I hope this doesn’t come across too negatively. I sometimes to think of “worst-case-scenario” just to put it out there as a possibility.

And, like people have said, there is always the comments section.

Say what ??? Who is desperate?

LOL that was meant to be “separate” :joy::joy:

The comments section under every single thing on tapas is essentially a readers forum, lol

really? I don't ever get that. Well, it happened like one time out of the multiple months I've been on here, it was when I was trying to sign into my account, I could still read stuff though, no idea why it started or stopped, but it's been a while so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hihi reader here.

Basically this:

It's a pain to log into, there's really no reason to be on the forum. If I want to interact, there's a comment section and creator wall for that. I mainly come here(Tapas) to read comics, not really to think up community events.
I agree the forum should remain creator based, it's nice for creators to have this space to do their stuff. Readers don't need that

Honestly, I'm only here because it's way easier to get a hold of staff about bugs or lost ads compared to emailing them.

Then why would you even care about what comments are new, if you don't follow the comic?

Okay, now first of all I would agree with most people - there is just nothing to do here for a reader.
Most threads are about promotion and helping each other with art and writing. As creators we need it. It is also nice to bond with fellow comic makers, it would be hard to approach them anywhere else.
Readers don't care about that. If they want to say something about your writing and art - they will do it in comments under your comic/novel. If they don't write anything there, they will definitely won't write anything here.
And I am sure you don't want every reader to give you advices about how to change your writing and art style for their liking, because you know, everyone have their own opinion on that things.

Again then, what themes would you think will be interesting for them? If you say "we make a thread for each comic on Tapas to discuss it" - the comments are for that. And also if this happens, people will discuss those big, featured, trending comics and no one would care about small comics again, they are not easy to find on Tapas and they won't be easy to find here.
