Can I upload fan (not original) comics here?

Hi, I'm new here, and after reading the rules and looking for examples, I still did not understand if I can publish here "not original" fan comics or not? Like comic books that you make yourself, but you have no rights on characters or the world. ( batman, superman, spider man, etc.) In my case, I do mlp pony comic books. And I don't know if I can publish it here or not. I definitely can't do it on Webtoons.

You can post them here, but you cannot monetize from them. So no ad revenue or ink.

Yes, you can post work like this, but you have to add disclaimer in your comic that you didn't create characters, they do not belong to you and address the owner in this case Hasbro. It's good to post this dicraimer in comic description and chapter description.
And of course you cannot monetize it.

Hmm, thank you, but then there's another dilemma. I also have another series of comics in mlp universe but with my original characters. But their official characters are still there in the background and sometimes have short scenes.
Nothing changes in this case in terms of monetization?

The characters belonging to Hasbro are protected by copyright law you need a licence to monetize them. Even when they just appear for few frames. This is why in anime there is WcDonald's not McDonald's

This is also why selling fanarts is not so legal, but most of the time corporations don't care, because there are to much people selling them, so unusually they take down only the most well-known creators.

If you will get money of your comic where official characters appears you can be taken down or even sued

I clarified with the team - As per our TOS we don't allow copyrighted work, which fan works fall into.
Due to the large volume of series uploaded to our platform, it's difficult for us to monitor and audit all the works on Tapas.

We also don't actively promote fan works.

So, you're saying that all the fan comic I found here exist only because the administration hasn't checked them out yet. And if I publish something and gather a large audience, the administration eventually will notice me and delete all my work anyway?
Or I'm just will be banned from advertising and collecting ink, but I still can use this platform to promote myself?

Legally we can't support copyrighted material.

IF a series is reported for copyright infringement, we will work with the creator to find a solution. You'll likely not be banned or deleted (Unless it's not a fan work but outright stealing).

That's as much as I can say I think - basically, you don't have to be scared that we suddenly ban all fan fictions. I know it's an annoying gray zone, and I hope you can read between the lines.
