There was a War is set in ancient Ireland, largely taking place somewhere in Ulster, and will later take place largely on Tory island. a lot of the world design is inspired by the time ive spent in scotland, particularly the inner hebrides, bc my family have been going there for years now, and it was really formative for me growing up.

Rock of Ages takes place in the fantasy world of the Lands of Rock and Metal, with different landscapes and cities, some of which have their own government. The places and animals are all based in rock and heavy metal's artwork and songs, and music is a force of nature.

It Lurks Inside Us takes place in a retrofuturistic kingdom of sorcery and science, where men made of iron and glass roam the streets and the populace has just finished recovering from a plague that nearly destroyed them years ago. I tried mixing scifi technologies into the victorian society in (hopefully) unique ways!

Smith takes place in Hastings, East Sussex - you know, the place where that battle in 1066 never actually happened - but as seen at the eye level of a domestic cat. Most of the time it's set in a generic suburban setting but when the characters head out to the beach or the town I like to make the drawings as specific as possible.

Megami Shiizun is set on Rosemount Island, located between Africa and South America in the Atlantic ocean. It exists under a veil of mythical energy and is protected by a natural force around it which creates a rogue wave that ultimately derail or sink ships passing nearby. Only if you manage to survive and pass through the veil on the other side, can you see the island and the waters return calm.
People on the island are all unaware of the outside world.
The island is smaller than the province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. You can walk from one end to the other in less than a day. The location has 4 seasons, however, they're all at the same time and year round. Depending which kingdom you're near, the season changes, but for the most part, the island has Summer weather all the time with comfortable temperatures.

My comic takes place in a town in America. It doesn't specifically take place in any state since I've never lived in the US, so which state the story takes place in is entirely up to the reader's interpretation.

My comic takes place in and around a fantasy thalassocratic city-state vaguely reminiscent of a variety of cities of the Mediterranean Basin's Antiquity.
But there is also a little bit of Persia, India etc. Lots of different influences.

NLPCo is in a fictional college town in the American Pacific Northwest, which is convenient because my comic is based on my experiences working in a pizzeria across the street from a University. For "plausible deniability" reasons I came up with a new name for the restaurant and decided to place Neon in a fictional town that is very similar to my own. I haven't named the city yet but it's the host of Pacific Northwest State College, home of the Fighting Nutria.

High Fantasy where there are no rulesssssss

A world more or less like ours, bit different in terms of history and flora/fauna/climate. Takes place in a tiny kingdom that is surrounded by a bay, mountains, creepy forest, and rivers to the north as natural barriers from other kingdoms/countries that are currently in disagreement with each other/at war and isn't noticed by them. It's on one of the eastern continents and is plagued by harsh rain storms and the like during the late fall and early winter because it's right on the ocean/bay area. There's also a floating continent pieces above that adds to the buildup of clouds which help causes that rain. Really a lot of the planet and ecosystems aren't explored because they aren't central to the plot. There's also an alternate world more or less where when you die, you have to pass over the threshold to reach this other world - but the threshold itself is also it's own world. Weeeee complicated.

My story takes place in our world, starting in September 2356. It takes place mostly in space and in Melbourne, Australia.

I picked Melbourne since it's one of the locations of the HQ/bases for ESC (the Earth Space Coalition) and since the ship is an English-speaking ship, I thought one of the English-speaking locations would be appropriate and more convenient/easier to write. It's also near the ocean which I wanted the story to take place near the ocean when on Earth.

I picked the year with some rough math taking into consideration the many years spent sending messages back and forth with aliens on a planet that is looks at notes 69 light years away and also about how long it would take for humans to develop a system for traveling that distance very quickly.

My completed comic, True Power, takes place around our time. Well, a few years ago I suppose it takes place about the time I was in college so about 10 years ago. It takes place mainly in our world and the extra stories mainly take place in the alien world, Erkonia.

The sequel takes place about 16 years later, in our world. There are a few things that do take place in Erkonia.

All my stuff takes place in the same universe, though each has their own particular setting.

My webnovel takes place in an alternate 1930's where superpowers have changed the world. Ghosts are real and are a scientifically studied phenomena. World War 1 was called the Great War in the Air (in reference to the HG Wells book the War in the Air) and was fought with giant airships and landships.

My webcomic takes place a little later in the 40's. Germany and Russia never split due to recognizing superhumans as a mutual threat to their collectivist countries (thus by extension Spain never has a civil war between communists and fascists). Due to a policy of watch and contain, the Axis were able to build a cache of superweapons under the noses of Earth's superheroes and have deployed them to stalemate the superheroes in a war fought across time and space.

It's like other WW2 era superhero stories--like Invaders and JSA and All-Star Squadron--but with the super stuff less under-the-radar.

My comic takes place in the ocean where all sea life is bipedal and has progressed culturally into the middle ages. my favorite thing about working on the artwork is imagining beautiful oceanic landscapes and incorporating epic castle-age architecture while keeping a loose (at times hyper realistic) concept of underwater physics as well as applying awkward animalistic features to the personalities of all the different types of fish and sea creatures.

like this, though this is from the first issue and the first kingdom doesn't come until the end of the second issue (which I'm working on now) but you get the picture.

In Alien Fiction, we have a universe full of Earths. Here is Firefighter Earth were you can go to get a firefighter. Over there is Viking Earth. To the right of that is Superhero Earth. Since there are near-infinite stars to visit, it's inevitable that an alien explorer with enough time will find multiple earths -- not really, but it's good enough for a very goody sci-fi.

I knew that I wanted my alien characters to be able travel to different planets and abduct humans. Specialized versions of Earth seemed like a fun reason why they would travel instead of just taking over one planet and habitually raiding that population. I soon afterward realized that this approach also gives me a chance to satire at various stereotypes.

Takes place in the fictional Country of Nørak( Die Kongeriget Nørak )
Nørak is a northern european country, member of the European union(yeah they use euros), their main language is Noorkwegian(just english with funny words)
Nørak, just like its neighbouring countries, its shown to be a Welfare State(a modern monarchy however) where a high level of equality is accomplished. Still issues like classism racism, homophobia, etc have not been erased, specially in rural areas (such as Bled)
Noorkwegians are descendants of norwegian and danish settlers that arrived a couple hundred years back.
Nørak is an island located between the Scottish and the norwegian coastline.

Ha! This is funny.
So I was about to post a message in the 'maps' thread saying that before reading the (then thought correct) name BLEDI, I thought it was BLED!, and was wondering why you would have chosen a Latin transliteration of a North-African Arabic word for the name of a place in a Scandinavian-inspired place. But, looks like that what it is finally, with the rural setting etc. My first idea was right, then?
