Carrd or Linktree?

What site do you use for your links? Do you use carrd or linktree? Which do you think is better? Are there other sites that you can put all of your links on?

As I've been trying to expand my social media presence, I've found that I'm now posting on too many places to put links to on all of my profiles. I've seen a lot of people use carrd and a lot of artist I follow use linktree. What are your recommendations for sites like this?

I don't have either of these (tho i've been very much looking at carrd) but i think it's a matter of personal preference for people who use/make them

carrd seems to give a little more creative freedom in coding/designing them outside of templates meanwhile linktree feels a little more straight and to the point

i think (and don't take my word on this) but i think that one of them has a paid/premium version if not both so money may also be a deciding factor in people final decisions

I have both and use them in different situations. For sites I want people to click on my comics, like Instagram, I'll use Linktree. Otherwise, I'll send them directly to my Carrd (eg. on emails, here on Tapas where they can already see my comics...) I like that you can use your own custom URL on Carrd and that it can be a 'hub' of sorts without having to actually have a full website.

Edit: Carrd is also pretty affordable at $20 for a whole year. Not bad!

I used linktree for a while but now I use carrd and I highly recommend it, it gives you more freedom to customize your site.

Well if you want many different templates to choose from, carrd is the way to go. There are many free ones to pick from.
I use linktree myself since I learned of it before carrd, and I like that you can group links under headings and add little icons to them now (also free). The straightforward list is also very well suited to mobile.

I use Carrd. It's way more flexible! You can make it look much more appealing on PC, and their mobile version is still streamlined and easily read/clickable.

i use both! though i prefer the customisability of carrd, which i use mainly for tumblr, i also use linktree mainly for instagram

I already had my own web hosting, so I coded my own:

My domain is a lot shorter than either a carrd link or a linktree, at only 10 characters. I used a framework called LittleLink, which makes it really easy for people self-hosting their own linktrees to build one for themselves.

Right now my link tree looks like a fancier linktree, but because I wrote it myself I can do anything with it that I want!

I also think my link tree loads a little faster than a linktree link tree, but I might be imagining it.

Hmm, I've been sticking to Smarturl mostly for viewing the stats.
It's rather clean and eye-catching, but the free version can only give useful stats (country, how many clicks on which domain) in a fixed time frame.

Just curious, but how good are Linktree and Carrd (free version) when it comes to stats tracking?

I'm using a Linktree for now but I'm probably going to switch over to a Carrd once I figure out how it works.

Linktree gives some really basic analytics in the free version. I'm sure it goes more in depth with the paid account.

I used to use Linktree but for some reason it got me banned from Instagram, and only got unbanned when i removed my linktree link!? So now Im using carrd have not been banned so far at least

I like both of them so have no preference, and im not one to care much about statistics so its either for me really. I use the free version too and found both Linktree and Carrd be pretty easy to get the hang off.

I used to use Linktree but other people had trouble accessing it. Apparently that’s common with linktree? Anyway, I used Carrd now

I've heard that linktree urls tend to get flagged as spam, so I use Carrd -- I keep mine pretty simple, so it's basically still just a list of links and I think an illustration.

I have used both and prefer Carrd as it has a lot more customizable options for the free version compared to Linktree, so I now use Carrd only.

Yes, stats for the free version looks really basic, since it's free.
It's the same with Carrd if I remember correctly. Only tried it once last year for like 10 min.

So far Carrd looks the nicest among the platforms, and it's user-friendly too.
But I'll stick with Smarturl for now. My team is still experimenting with our webcomic, so having rough info on when, where & how to promote it saves us time to work more on the contents
