Hi all, I recently created a new webcomic series here on Tapas about two weeks ago and am conflicted if I should change the genre.

My comic, Space Pack (for reference): https://tapas.io/series/Space-Pack1

The comic is currently listed under Sci-Fi with a comedy subgenre due to its plot involving a good deal of aliens, but thinking harder on it, there is far more comedy in the pages and even the sci-fi elements are silly. So I am wondering if I should change the main genre to Comedy.

What concerns me is the fact that my comic is long-form with a storyline, which is less common for the comedy genre, and of course the concern that the comedy genre has far more competition. And lastly, if I do change it, would it cause any issues to try a new genre and if that doesn't seem to fit, to change it back again? Can that be done?

Any thoughts, insight, or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance!!!

You can change genres as much as you like. Just be aware that jumping around can either increase or destabilize views making you harder to find. But I mean if you don't have too much of a following built up right now then I say do it. XD

Thank you so much for your input, I really appreciate it! I think you make a great point- I might as well give it a shot while my following is still small and the story has only just begun!

yeah the problem becomes big if you are already big. But if you are small you can normally make a few changes without an issue.

Gotcha! Very good to know! I've made the change and will see how it goes for the next few updates. Thanks again!
