Hi everyone!

I'm back!! It's me, the resident owner of Unofficial Tapas Search7 (aka tapasfans.com9) with a new tool for y'all: a Chrome extension that allows you to copy and paste into Tapas while preserving italics/bold formatting!

Check it out here:

If you like it, don't forget to rate/review on the Chrome web store  And if you find any issues or have any requests, the forums is probably the quickest way to reach me!!

Enjoy~

Okay, here's a potential issue, because I used it just now to post my latest chapter... the extension seems to mess with spacing. It does a great job of retaining the italics, but I had to go through and replace a lot of spaces between words and commas.

Oh how I wish I used Chrome right now LOL Not preserving Italics has driven me nuts with both my books. If I ever tried to bring my Celestial Children Trilogy over here I'd probably die given how many internal conversations the MC has with animals are written using italics :joy:

Bless you for making this for Chrome users!

Is this supposed to work for pasting from a specific word processor?

It doesn't work when coming from Google docs.

Hi @elisabeth_ist could you let me know what word processor you're copying from and an example of the type of spacing you'd like to preserve?

@IsobelLynx hmm I just tested it and indeed there seems to be an issue with Google Docs! I'll look into it, but in the meantime, pasting from Google Docs onto a word editor, and then copying pasting from the word editor worked for me (I was using TextEdit)

Just Microsoft Word. As for the spacing, it's nothing special -- just the usual spacing between words. I'd say at least one space was eliminated per paragraph. It seemed to be fairly random -- not all the spaces disappeared, but enough of them did that it was a problem.

Hi @IsobelLynx I think I have fixed the issue with Google Docs! HOWEVER any changes to the extension has to go through Google's standard review process of extensions, so it might take awhile before the fix actually goes live... I'll keep you posted

I thinkkkk this should fix @elisabeth_ist's issue as well, but will have to wait and see (or if someone can provide me some sample text where the spacing got messed up)

One side note is that technically this fix isn't specific to Google Docs, it's specific to a type of formatting. So it should also fix it for any other word editors that format in a similar way to Google Docs~

THANK YOU! It was painful (and I think I missed some) going back and italicize and bold the texts

OMG are you serious!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! ;_;

I'll download Chrome specifically to use this. I can't wait to try it out on my next episode! Thank you again for all your great work on this.

I just tried it again and it worked like a dream! No spacing issues anymore -- thank you!

Oh no... spoke too soon. It was fine while it was in the editor! After I posted, though, the spacing ran together again in exactly the same way it did before. Sorry!
