I am working on a page that needs to look cinematic - like when a game hits a cut scene and black bars appear top and bottom of the screen. I am probably going to give the page a black background. and possibly have light blue borders- similar to how Vanguard does some of their pages:
Here's an example17

here's my question. is it worth putting bars top and bottom of each panel? I'm concerned that I'll end up losing too much page real estate putting borders in.

Children of the Moon does it that way often. It looks fine to me.

The vertical scrolling system here isn't friendly towards wide frames. The site will take your frames and resize them to fit that "page real estate", so taller frames will appear properly, while wide frames will be downsized into this tiny thing.

I've tried it for myself too; big, widescreen shots for those cinematic moments. On DeviantArt, it works; on Tapas and Webtoons, it doesn't.
