Clip Studio Paint won't open after it Crashes

So i ask, why does it do that? i'm getting tired of having to restart the computer every time it does it too

since i have been working on that crossover mini series that is in vertical scrolling format, clip has been getting crash happy, once it crashes, i am unable to turn it back on cause it keeps crashing upon loading

I'd reinstall it if I were you. Whenever any app crashes often, it's the best step to take.

I am not a computer expert here but if a program crashes and you cannot restart it, parts of the program may still run. Or at least the pc thinks it is running and won't open it twice.

If that happens again try opening the task manager (right click on your taskbar or ctrl+alt+del) and look at "processes" if the program is still mentioned in that list. If so: Force it to stop running ("End Task" it is called in English I think .... Sorry, my windows is in German so names may differ).
Anyways after that is done, it might be possible to restart Clip Studio ...

Anyhow if those crashes happen regularly that can happen several issues:
- Another programm might interefere (like Virtual Keyboard does with Skyrim)
- Clip Studio isn't up to date anymore and you might want a newer version compatible to your system
- It might have bugs (same thing, get a newer version if possible)
- The progam is damaged (this can happen if there are PC-Errors. It isn't needed that those errors appear with a warning that flashes up. Irregular shut downs. Energy fluctuations in the system etc.) In that case: Reinstall like @elyss adviced.

Ther may be more causes but like said: I am no IT expert. ^^

Also monitor when you are opening the program- are you running 4 to 6 different things at once(and if so, are they processes/programs that use a LOT of memory)...if this is happening you may A) need to clean/defragment your system, B) [possibly] get more memory, or C) do a re-install of CSP.

its been a while since i did a defrag in general, used to have a computer that auto did it weekly

Windows 10 does not auto derfrag- no matter how much they claim to. I cant remember if 7 did, but XP used to auto defrag perfectly. You also might wanna invest in a registry cleaner program as well- some times the registry can get jumbled up & cause issues with some programs.

It might have left a temporary file that's corrupted behind (most software these days has some kind of facility to preserve the state it was last running in should it crash)

Might be worth finding out if it saves any temp files whilst running and deleting them before attempting to start it again.
