Purely an anime artist here ;p
I usually go for single multiple layer cell shading
1
but I sometimes go for a more soft-shaded painted look on a weekend

My illustration style and comic style are a bit different as the illustration style is more refine compare to the kind of rush style of comic style. I usually put like 75-90% for the comic art and dont worry too much about refining.
appearance wise, they lean more on the manga style with a hint of western influence. I been looking at Avatar as a source of my style's inspiration.

I'd say that my style is definitely more rooted in a painterly style that takes a more traditional approach to the use of colors and shading. Which makes sense since I was classically trained in painting and drawing before getting more involved with digital art. So now I have an odd mashup of stylization and realism.

In my comicking I try to produce a type of "energy" in my work, though I'm not sure if I convey that all the time. I think it would be easier if the story i'm currently working on was more action packed, but it's drama and romance based. The drama helps at times...

My coloring style is very different mostly in that it has no solid outlining. I only ever paint when I color digitally, it's the only method I've felt comfortable with on a non-scren tablet...though now that my workspace has a screen tablet I might consider experimenting other styles once in awhile.

My overall style is semi-realistic, lots of detail. I can't tell you exactly what it's inspired by, I guess you can say it's generally western inspired, although I've been told it has some slight Japanese inspired features.

My coloring is vibrant, with complimentary shading.

My black and white (old example, but still relevant) has no blocked out grays or anything, just a lot of penwork. Nothing too complex, usually basic hatching but I do go a little ham every so often.

Here's mine! I'm not good with realism, so I use basic shapes instead.
