I thought it might be interesting to collect a poll to see how many people do reviews either here on Tapastic, or on other webcomic sites. I would be interested in seeing why you write reviews, and what you like to include in the review.

I started writing reviews because I fell in love with webcomics and wanted to contribute to the community in some way. My first couple of reviews got a lot of positive feedback and an array of people wanted to see more reviews. I used this encouragement to continue with this hobby and even built my own blog2 for the reviews after my original location (Inkblazers) shutdown.

I try to make my reviews contain a critique of the artwork as well as the writing. I think the thing that makes my reviews different than most other people's reviews is that I include examples of my critiques and my favourite parts of the webcomic.

So to lay may questions out neatly:

  1. Why did you start writing reviews?
  2. What important aspects do you like to include in your reviews? What makes them unique?
  3. Are you just a casual reviewer (review when you feel like it), or do you make it more of a commitment (try to get a certain amount of reviews out per month)?

I don't know how big the reviewer/critic community is, so it would be nice to see if there are others like me blush

All the best,
WintreKitty

I have a lot of years of experience with writing, so I usually critique anything that needs constructive criticism based on that.
